Chapter 47:
Orion watched Shion before looking down at his watch and then back again at Shion. That made a full minute that Shion had just been sitting there staring at him in shock. Expressionlessly cocking his head to the side, Orion's expression gradually changed from one of expectation to one that showed slight fear.
He continued to speak in broken sentences as if they portrayed the entirety of his message, "Don't want to?"
"Stop treating your words like gold! You never even proposed, how are we supposed to get married!" Shion cried.
Pondering for a moment, Orion's eyes glazed over as he thought over Shion's words. His eyes suspiciously brightened two shades indicating he'd come up with some kind of plan.
Turning to Shion with a large smile, he grabbed Shion's hand, "Marry me?"
Shion dumbfoundedly stared at Orion with an appalled expression, he sighed, "That's not how marriage works..."
"You said I didn't propose, so we can't get married, so I proposed. We can get married now, yes?" Orion asked.
"...no," Shion coughed with embarrassment on behalf of Orion.
"I made a mistake saying that," Shion started.
"You can't take back your words. I legitimately have a fiancée now. If you leave me at the altar I'll track you down and bring you back," Orion said evenly.
"I made a mistake befriending you years ago," Shion sighed as he gripped his forehead.
Shion wasn't going to lie to himself, he could genuinely feel some level of happiness in being asked, even in the most primitive way, to be married to Orion. Admittedly, it put his emotions in turmoil, but there was no need to give an immediate answer, so he would take his time in being able to formulate a response. Shion himself knew he cared about Orion, but he wasn't ready to accept all that came with it. The backlash he'd receive, the hate from his Orion's father, Niel, the foreseeable drop in his family's company's stocks were all not things he could deal with at the moment.
"Orion, you have more to consider when asking to marry someone. Did you think about how your fans would take to their idol being tarnished? You're an incredibly high profile person. If you suddenly get married to a man, can you imagine all the trouble that'll come with it. You just can't up and disappear to get married. Added to that, how do you expect me to marry you when you just ask me out of the blue? What brought along your sudden proposal?" Shion asked.
"There are rumours going around that I'm getting marrier after the last scandal. I put pictures online at the supermarket, and I didn't expect the response I got. You said you'd leave my side if I married anyone else, so the only way to make sure you don't leave me is the hold you by my side by marrying you. Then you can't slip through my grasp," Orion explained.
Lips twitching, Shion glared at Orion, "You made a mistake on social media, and are trying to recklessly solve it? You have an HR department in your company to give you options in solving problems like that," Shion scolded.
Orion's focus remained on the wheel as he casually dismissed Shion's words, "No need to solve it. Just turn it into a reality."
Shion suddenly felt the need to slap Orion back into Orion. It appeared that his eye in people was really unreliable. How did he pick such a single-celled organism? Someone please tell him! Don't tell him if has asked Orion where babies come from, he'd say storks sent them?
"Orion, do you persistently lose brain cells every time you meet with me?" Shion asked frustratedly.
"I read your EQ was meant to decrease when you're next to someone you love," Orion defended.
