“Hey, mamá,” Lance walked into the crowded house.

“Oh, mi hijo!” Mrs. McClain, Rosa, smiled and kissed her son’s cheek. “How was school today?”

“It was good today.”

“That’s good. No problems at all?”

“Nope.”

“Uncle Lance!” squealed a young girl’s voice.

“Nadia!” Lance smiled and picked up the girl running up to him. “How’s my favorite niece?”

“I’m good!”

“So, mom, a couple of friends invited me to see a movie with them this Saturday.” Lance said as he let his niece run free.

“Oh, really? What movie are you guys going to see?”

“Um, Ready Player One, you know, the one about the video games?” Lance lied.

“Oh, okay. Do you need money? Or are your friends paying for everything?” Rosa asked.

“I think I’ll be okay, mamá. I’ll just ask papá if I need some, I wouldn’t want to take money from you,” Lance bent down to kiss his mom’s cheek. “Well, I have homework to do mom.”

“Alright, mi niño. I love you.”

“Love you too, mamá.”

Lance made his way up to his room. Opening the door, he saw Blue on his bed waking up from her nap. He smiled at his cat as he closed the door and gently plopped onto the bed.

“You know, Blue, sometimes I wish you could talk,” Lance sighed and rubbed her head, making her purr. “But...maybe not...you may not accept me for being bi…”

Blue looked up at Lance and meowed as she rubbed her fur on his shirt to show her affection. Lance giggled. “Nah, you’d accept me for me no matter what...wish I could say the same thing about mi papá and the rest of my family.”

With one final pat on her head, Lance grabbed his backpack and started on his homework until he realized…

[4:16p] lovedoctor: he always talks bad about them and it hurts to hear them talk about them like...like there’s something mentally wrong with them!

[4:17p] hunkalicious: same, honestly. Like let people love who they want to love, it’s not that big of a deal.
