“You go, I'm staying here,” Keith demanded, his arms crossed.

“I already told you, I'm not leaving without you,” Lance pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Then it looks like you're staying here. No need to argue about it anymore.”

“You're being selfish and childish right now.”

“Shiro is my brother and if anything goes wrong, I need to be there for him! How is that selfish?!”

“You're only thinking about what you want to do and Shiro. What about me? What about my family? What about our friends at home? What about school? What about Ashley? Did you forget about her?”

Keith glared viciously at Lance. “So you don't care about Shiro? All you care about is your family? And-”

“That's not at all what I said! Of course I care about Shiro! He's like, my hero! It's just...you aren't looking at the big picture. We have friends who are worried sick about us. We even have cats we need to feed. You're going to let all of them worry just so you can stay with one person?”

“Shiro is not just one person,” Keith spat venomously. “He's my brother-”

“So what, Keith? I have two brothers and two sisters-”

“Shiro is everything to me!” Keith yelled and Lance froze. “He's been there for me since day one! He was the one who took me in when no one was around! He's the one paying for the house I live in now! He's the one who cared about me and told me that I was worthy of living!”

“Keith-”

“I almost ended it,” Keith said, his voice broken, tears falling down his face. “I thought it was over. I wanted my life to end. So, I climbed onto the roof of Shiro's apartment late at night and almost jumped. He was the one to stop me. He was the one who held me tight and told me that life was worth living. That I had a good future ahead of me. That I shouldn't give up. He saved my life! So don't you ever say that he's just one person!”

“Keith, I'm sor-”

“Don't bother,” Keith pushed Lance away, rejecting the hug the latter was trying to give him. He walked toward the door, getting ready to leave the bathroom. “I don't care what you do. I'm staying here, and there's nothing you can say that can change my mind.”

With that, Keith left the bathroom, leaving Lance staring after him.

“But...what about me?”

It'd been over an hour since their argument, and the two of them refused to talk to each other, let alone look at each other. Krolia had driven the gang to a hotel so they could spend the night and figure out a game plan for the morning.

Once everyone was settled, Keith had walked into his designated room. Everyone knew his choice already.

“Alright, so what's the plan?” Krolia asked.

“Well, I think we should go home,” Acxa started. “I mean, there's no point in waiting here when we know he won't be ready for another week or two.”

“I second that,” was all that Lance said.

“Romelle, are you from Sedona as well?” Krolia turned to the blonde.
