“Oh my gosh, why are they still arguing about this?” Allura groaned.

“Because Lance is as stubborn as a mule,” Hunk answered.

“Face the facts, Lance, the Tenth Doctor is gone, Matt Smith is great, and Peter Capaldi just puts a different spin on the Doctor,” Pidge defended.

“I'll admit that Matt Smith is a decent Doctor, but I don't like how Peter portrays him. He's boring,” Lance groaned.

“Peter's Doctor is sassy, not boring.”

“Peter Capaldi is just not meant to be a Doctor. That's why I stopped watching. He's the reason.”

“He's doing his best-”

“He needs to do better!”

“Okay, well, at least I don't switch favorites!”

“What do you mean?” Lance asked.

“Before David Tennant came in, you loved Christopher Eccleston and hated David until you saw him through,” Pidge accused.

“I literally tried to do the same with Capaldi, but it's so hard because he's BORING! Also, Chris was a cool Doctor...I kinda miss him. I should go back and rewatch those someday.”

“Yeah, and continue through to the end.”

Lance groaned. “No, not gonna happen. That's just how I feel, okay?”

“But-”

“Pidge, just let it go,” Hunk suggested. “He's not gonna change his mind.”

Pidge pouted and crossed her arms. “Fine, it's not like it matters anyway.”

“Pidgey, don't be like that,” Lance begged. “It's just a show.”

“Whatever, I don't care.”

“Seriously?”

“Look, I'm gonna go. See you guys later.”

Pidge stood up, grabbed her bag, and left the lunchroom. Everyone stared after her.

“What's her problem?” Lance wondered.

“I don't know,” Allura replied, looking over to Lotor, who'd been really quiet. She grabbed his hand and squeezed. “You okay?”

He nodded and leaned onto her shoulder.

“Yeah, you've been really quiet lately,” Keith added.

“I'm okay,” Lotor muttered quietly. “Just tired.”

“Have you been sleeping okay, baby?” Allura asked sweetly, softly stroking his hair.

“Trying, can't,” Lotor complained, a small yawn breaking out in the end.

“Is everything okay at home?” Lance asked curiously.

“As far as I know, yeah. How do you feel?” Allura questioned.

“It's nice...but I-”

The bell rang out for the next class. They all groaned at that.

“We can talk next class,” Allura promised.

“So, what were you going to say?” Allura asked.

“I love you, and it's been great living with you and your father,” Lotor told her truthfully. “But...I fear that my father might do something…”

“Lotor, baby, you don't have to worry about him. Even if he tries something, we won't let him near you,” Allura promised him.

“I don't want you to get hurt...or worse,” Lotor looked at the ground. “Maybe...maybe I should leave.”

“Lotor, what are you talking about?” Allura furrowed her eyebrows.

“In order to keep you and your family safe...I need to go, hide somewhere out of the state for awhile…”

“What? No, no, no, you're talking crazy talk.”

“‘Lura, I have nightmares of him mangling you and Mr. Alfred, and Romelle constantly,” Lotor confessed, tears brimming his eyes. “If I have to run away for a bit to keep you safe, then so be it.”

Allura shook her head disapprovingly. “No, you can't just run away from your problems. We can get through this together. Maybe see a therapist? Or-or the school counselor? And wouldn't you get lonely by yourself?”

“I'm used to feeling alone,” Lotor shrugged. “It's just for a few weeks, two months at the longest. Just so he doesn't get to you.”

“But, Lotor, that doesn't make any sense.” Allura grabbed his hand again, looking in his eyes. “If you're alone, traveling, he could get to you. Track you. One way or another. It's dangerous to be alone. We shouldn't even be discussing this. You're not going anywhere.”

Lotor chewed on his lip nervously and shook his head. “I'm sorry to hear that.”

Allura winced at that. “Sweetie, I know you think you’re doing the right thing and trying to protect us...but please, reconsider, or at least think it through before you make any final decisions, okay?”

Lotor grumbled something under his breath before he sighed and looked into Allura’s pleading eyes. How could he say no to her?

“Fine, I’ll think about it,” Lotor pouted, looking away, embarrassed of falling for her trap.

“Thank you,” Allura kissed his cheek, making him blush at the attention.

“Yeah, yeah,” Lotor rolled his eyes.
