Allura took a deep breath before she decided today was the day she would rejoin her friends at lunch. She opened the cafeteria doors and spotted the table she used to sit at. With another deep breath, she walked into the room and headed toward the table with her friends. Lance was the first to spot her and she almost froze. The Cuban only smiled and waved her over. She was confused by this. Didn’t Lance know about her? Maybe Keith, Hunk, and Pidge hadn’t told him about her. She continued to walk toward the table.

“Hello, everyone,” Allura said shyly.

Everyone turned to her, a mixture of hatred and worry in their eyes, with the exception of Lance and Lotor.

“Allura, so glad you made it,” Lotor smiled.

“Speak for yourself,” Keith mumbled, but everyone heard it.

“Where have you been for the past week?” Lance asked, pure concern in his voice.

“Well...I’ve been avoiding you because I thought you would hate me,” Allura looked down ashamed.

“I don’t hate you, Allura,” Lance told her.

“What?”

“Wait, what?” Hunk and Pidge repeated, looking at Lance confused.

“Look, you're homophobic, but I can tell you don't hate me,” Lance said. “You're trying and that's all that I want.”

“But...your parents-"

“You aren't like my dad, Allura...and I trust that you'll never be that way.”

Allura teared up and hugged Lance from his seat. “Thank you.”

Lance blushed and hugged her back. “Y-you're welcome, princess.”

“Well, if Lance is okay with it, then we are too,” Pidge spoke up.

“Yeah, and we're sorry for giving you a hard time,” Hunk apologized. “We thought Lance was gonna be super hurt by this and, uh...we tend to get a little overprotective and dramatic.”

“We've known Lance since we were in diapers and we were just looking out for him,” Pidge explained.

“What are you two apologizing for?” Lance raised an eyebrow.

“We might've overreacted a little?” Hunk squeaked.

“Hunk threw up,” Pidge confessed.

“Hunk throws up every other day,” Lance said furrowing his eyebrows.

“I literally said that I was gonna be sick because of her.”

Lance gasped, “Hunk Ualesi Garrett! You are supposed to be the nice one! How dare you do this!”

“I'm sorry, Lance. I have failed you as a best friend. I will do better, I promise.”

“It's okay, Hunk. I guess it just goes to show that Hunk has a dark side when he thinks I'm hurt physically and emotionally. True friendship at its finest.”

“I love you, bestie, no homo,” Hunk smiled.

“I love you too, no homo,” Lance smiled back. “So, Allura, are you going to sit with us again?”

“If it's okay with everyone,” Allura said.

Everyone automatically said yes, with the exception of Keith, who just nodded. Allura smiled and took a seat next to Lotor.

“I missed you guys,” Allura noted. “I just...guess I was scared.”

“It's alright to be scared,” Lotor reassured. “Which reminds me...I should probably tell you guys something…”
