~Mark~
I don't know how I should react. There are two ways my mind goes about the situation. Either, be arrogant and defensive, or be patient and trust he knows what he is doing. Since I've done the first option too many times than I am at liberty to say, I decided with the latter. He had a lot on his shoulders after all, I can't imagine what he's trying to handle.
He's been avoiding me. Ever since the other night, he hasn't breathed a word to me, nor has he shared a single look my way. I would say he's doing this on purpose, which he might be... Maybe for a good reason, maybe to distance us and let the situation breathe before causing havoc. Or maybe he realises it was all a terrible mistake.
The thought made my heart clench. We were leaving tomorrow. So he better clear everything up quick.
"Hey Mark?" I hear Ethan perk from behind me which made me jump, quickly turning my head to look at him. Our nose brushed each other and I felt my breath get caught in my throat. "Guess what?" He smirked, not moving away despite how close our mouths were from each other.
I like Ethan and all. But not that much.
"What?" I lean back, seeing him laugh at me. "We're all going out to dinner!" He said enthusiastically, spreading his arms out. "I'm good, I'll stay in", I sunk in my place, looking out the window. "No! You can't! Besides... Jack's gonna be there", I knew what he was trying to do. And it definitely worked.
"Fine".

I couldn't fathom the behaviour Sean was projecting. He was sitting across from me, but still kept his eyes away from meeting my stare. I knew he knew I was looking at him, subtle about my attempts to get his attention. I kicked him under the table in which he finally met my stare with a frown of irritation but soon he looked away again.
"Hey Jack?" Ethan perked from beside me, instantly catching Jack's attention. "Huh? Yeah?" He looked to him in surprise.
"You alright? You seem pretty out of it", Ethan tilted his head and I noticed Sean share a look with what's-his-face before looking back at Ethan, biting his lip. "No man I'm fine", that really ticked me off, I could tell something was off when Sean looked at what's-his'face and if asking for permission.
"What's the matter Sean? Can't you have a conversation with people before asking what's-his-face for permission?" I challenged and Jack scoffed, rolling his eyes before he looked directly at me. "I am my own person Mark", his voice cracked. He was lying to me in some way.
"Then have a conversation with us Jack", I shared a look with what's-his-face. "My name is Adam, just by the way", what's-his-face corrected and I couldn't help but smirk as I shrugged to him. "I could really care less about remembering your name", I watched him scowl at me before he looked over at Jack who seemingly dazed off, staring at me.
My eyes met his and we held a staring contest, however I could see his gaze drift to study my entire face, his teeth subconsciously holding his bottom lip between them. I smirked and he snapped out of his trance, a deep shade of red dusting over his pale cheeks, lowering his head to look down at his hands.
The entire evening consisted of him giving me nervous glances and me smirking to him which would instantly cause him to flare up bashfully.
I quickly pulled him aside to ask him what really was wrong, but he quickly jerked at his arm in attempt to leave my presence, but I refused to let up until he told me what was wrong with him. "I can't do this Mark", he hissed at me, retracting his arm completely and glaring at me.
"Can't do what Jack?" I crossed my arms.
"This. Whatever 'this' between us is, I can't do it. It wasn't meant to be, I'm sorry but it's not for us", he tried to walk away from me but in a state of panic I grabbed the back of his hoodie and jerked him back into my chest, hugging him close. "Please... Don't walk away from me like this... I can't let you walk away from me again..." I whimpered into his ear and he hung his head, not speaking nor moving.
"Please Jack, don't push me away like this... I know you don't mean what you said... Please don't do this to me", I nuzzled my face into his neck, I could feel his heart thumping. "Mark..."
"Sean please... I love you..." He froze and I could feel his jaw rise, he must be smiling. "I love you too Mark", He whispered huskily to me which enacted a series of shudders to crawl down along my spine.
"I just... I don't want..." He tried to say something but he trailed off and tried prying my hands off of him. I quickly lifted my stare to see what's-his-face sneering at us, his eyes scowling down at my arms that were currently wrapped around Jack. I reluctantly pulled away and stepped back, stuffing my hands in my pockets and glaring at the ground.
"You can't take a hint can you?" I could sense the distaste in his words and I snickered, not looking at him. "What hint?"
"Leave him alone, keep your god damn hands off", he was raising his voice at me which instantly pissed me off as I rose my head to see Sean behind him, shifting uncomfortably.
"There's no need to shout", I tilt my head.
"Don't touch what's not yours!" He threatened and I snorted, looking at Sean with a risen brow before returning my stare to what's-his-face.
"Yours? You talk like you own him. Like a dog. He's his own person after all, and you currently sound super possessive", I wanted to challenge him, which was working, but by the way he was acting, told me it wouldn't take much to wind him up. I was taken aback when he shoved my chest, throwing me back into the wall.
"Lay off!"
"Woah, what the fuck man?" I was irritated and I stepped up to him.
"Okay guys, let's not get out of hand", Ethan stood between us. I complied but fuckface was having none of it, he shoved me back again.
"Adam! Stop it!" Jack stood between us again to help Ethan keep somewhat of peace. "He needs to be put in his place Sean", He scowled at Jack, pushing him away like he was nothing. My cheeks flared and my hands balled into fists, just about ready to deck this guy, but Sean beat me to it.
Sean returned to his place and gave a mighty punch to what's-his-face's cheek, knocking him back.
"Leave him the fuck alone!"
Dynamite comes in small packages.
