Don't get too excited.
This is a cutesy chapter, yes, but it's the only one I'll write.

I trailed my index finger over the various labels of boxes, my eyes searching for a very particular one. Eventually my fingers graced over another hand and I quickly retracted at the contact, whipping my body around instinctively and walking away. I smirked to myself as I heard him let out a chuckle, his footsteps trailing behind me.
"Stop following me creep", I teased at him, sticking out my tongue and holding it between my teeth. "Creep? Oh Jack, I'm hurt", he whined and I slightly glance back at him, seeing he was slowly following me.
"Oh boo hoo", I finally spun on my heels to face him, still walking backwards. "Truthfully, that hurt my feelings Jackie", Mark pouted and I giggled happily, soon backing into the vegetable selections, a few potatoes falling at the impact.
"Oh Sean", he looked at the mess. "You clumsy clumsy boy", he placed his hands on the edge on either side of my body, pinning me in place.
"Personal bubble Mark, what did I say about the bubble?" I giggle more as I placed my palm against his mouth and tried to push him away, laughs muffled behind my hand. "You want me to leave you alone?" He brushed my hand away and leaned closer, his nose brushing against mine gently.
"No, don't", I pulled him when he tried stepping away, connecting our lips for a split second to separate before I dropped to my knees, his eyes widening at the action. "What are you doing?" He grew noticeably flustered. I lifted a single potato and smirked. "Cleaning up of course, what on earth were you thinking?" I teased as I packed the vegetables back in their place.
"Shut up", he looked up and lifted one of the potatoes, flinging it from hand to hand. "Look Jack, it's your family", he grinned maliciously. I slowly raise my stare to give him a look of disapproval. He lay it down and cleared his throat, trudging off to another aisle.
I chuckle to myself and completed packing the food back, climbing to my feet and dusting myself off. I wave to the woman watching me, a blush dusting over her cheeks as she forced her eyes down to her cart, walking out of the aisle. Mark and I weren't anything... At least not confirmed. We were close I suppose but no more than that, we didn't have a relationship status.
He was honestly visiting me here in Brighton for a week, since we haven't seen each other physically since the convention two months ago.
Adam is not a part of my life, at least not legally. I have a restraining order placed against him which was bullshit in my eyes since I demand for justice to get him in jail. Unfortunately that did not work in my favor.
"Mark?" I called, noticing his absence. I make my way into the next isle and see him chatting with the woman I see earlier, she leaning forward on the cart and smiling at him. I couldn't tell what they were talking about but judging by how Mark was interacting with her told me he was just being friendly.
I meander my way over and she looks to me with a blush, averting her eyes. "I was looking for you", I nudged Mark who smiled and looked back to the girl. "Are you two a couple?" She asked them hesitantly. "Oh, you could say that", he rubbed his temples, insinuating our only connection with each other was a physical one. I glare at him, jabbing his side.
"Fuck! I was kidding! Get off my goddamn dick", he rose his hands in defense, chuckling.
"So?" She glanced between us two.
"It hasn't been confirmed yet", I look at Mark momentarily and he glanced back. "You two make a really cute pair", she mumbled shyly and I smirked, looking at Mark again. "We've been told that quite a bit", Mark chuckled deeply.
"It was really nice meeting you two!" She waved shyly and made her way out the aisle, my eyes following her. "Ye hear that Sean? We're a cute couple", I felt his familiar hands ruffle my hair, my eyes shutting at the sudden actions. "Shut up! I already knew that!" I smacked his hands away and glared to him playfully.
Mark smiled gently at me, turning his attention to the shelves and looking over the various items. I watched him carefully, studying his movements. I still felt like this wasn't real, like it was just another dream my mind had cruelly conjured up, and I'll wake up in the morning alone and single, or with Adam.
I turn my head away from Mark, shutting my eyes and shaking my head. I silently scolded myself for the thoughts that swarmed within my mind, wishing that for once I could just allow myself to be happy instead of just claiming this wasn't real. Even if it isn't real, I should just drink in the moment while I have the chance, because before I know it, it'll be over and he'll be gone forever.
That thought really scares me to be honest.
"Jack?" I heard him hum to me and I blink away the blurriness as best I could, keeping my back to him. I didn't want to alarm him and have to admit to my childish and irrational thoughts. "Jackie? Are you alright?" He purred into my ear, embracing me into a hug from behind, gently placing his lips to the side of my neck. His warm breath that washed over the skin of my neck caused a wave of goosebumps to rise and I shivered.
"Yeah... I'm great Mark", I smiled to him.
"You sure?" He smiled sweetly, my heart melting in a million different ways.
"Absolutely".
I should savor him while I can.
