Marceline's p.o.v

It's already been three weeks after Marshall and I started...going out..we really became open to each other, too open. Were always together and I really enjoy being with him. He takes all my pain away, and cheers me up whenever I'm sad. I'll say it..'I love him', and I really mean that.

Today were going to meet somewhere in the forest near the candy kingdom. I picked myself up from the bed, taking a bath, and throwing some dark red jeans and a striped gray & black sweatshirt on, then wore a flat shoes. I went to the forest, going deeper where we are supposed to meet.

I saw no sign of him anywhere. So I just carelessly sat on the ground, flopping down in the crispy grass. It's only been ten minutes but it felt like its already been an hour! Still no sign of him. I sprawled freely on the grass as the sun sets..crap! the sun is setting!..I quickly rushed past the bushes and towards the peak of the mountain, overlooking the whole candy kingdom.

"where is he?" I softly mumbled to myself, letting out a heavy sigh. I just hovered in my place, propping my head in my hand when I felt someone ruffle my hair softly, then planted it a soft kiss.

"where were you?" Marshall asked me softly as he hovered beside me.

"no..where have YOU been?" I nudged him. My eyes still fixed on the sun.

"haha..maybe I got lost?", he chuckled, hugging me tightly. "sorry", he whispered in my ear, giving me goosebumps.

I cupped his face, giving him a kiss in the cheek "fine..", I replied..he really knows I can't resist him. "so what do you wanna do?" I asked him, since he's the one who invited me.

"oh yeah!, come here!", he exclaimed excitedly, pulling me in the woods. "almost there," Marshall said looking back at me, pushing every branches away to clear the path for me. As I take a few more steps, I look around in awe.

The trees around me look like cherry blossoms, with pale peach leaves. The grass lush and greener than any I've ever seen...maybe. And vibrant-colored wildflowers are everywhere. I breathe in the fresh air. It's cold but it felt good. We went to the middle of the place, where a full bloomed cherry blossoms lie. He held my hands, helping me settle on the bed of fallen leaves. The trees obscure the sun from here, but you can still see the beautiful view of the sky.

I asked him the first thing that popped on my mind.

"how did you find this place?" I asked him curiously, breaking the silence.

He chuckled, smiling serenely. "As always..I got lost in the woods just a couple of days ago"

"dummy!, how in the world did you get lost when you have the ability to fly?", I chuckled.

"I don't have a good sense of direction!" he teased. We stayed silent after that, I can still hear him say something, but I am already dozing off. Tiredness got the best of me.

I woke up, gazing at the surrounding and noticed it was already dark...too dark. "I..I can't see anything Marshall"   I whimpered..even if it's all pitch-black, I can see a grin forming on his face. "your making fun of me!"

He stayed silent. But my eyes started to adjust in the darkness that surrounded us. "hey...why are you so quiet" I whispered.     "am I talking to myself here?!!"..did I just yell?, glob! yes I did..this is stupid. I'm leaving, I slowly stood up from where I was until someone grabbed my wrist pulling me back down.

Marshall's p.o.v

I flicked my fingers and all the candles I placed earlier lit up. Marceline was looking up at me...looks angry. "I was just kidding. C'mon" I explained. She stuck out her tongue, standing up and dusting her jeans. I stopped her, holding her hands. "I didn't come here to make you angry, okay.... I invited you because I wanna ask you out properly" I stressed the last words..deliberately.

She just crackled, wiping her eyes. "what? are you serious?, what a gentleman..I never even thought you wanted it to be proper"

I scowl at her, making her grow serious. "this isn't a joke marce"

"well this isn't a proposal, is it" she bit her lower lip.

"okay..fine, I just embarrassed myself in front of my girlfriend. I just wanted you to know that, this isn't a joke..I really wanted to ask you out properly, so you won't get confused" I said in a suppressed manner. Letting go of her hands then running my hands in my hair.

"it doesn't really matter Marshall..as long as I know you mean everything you say"

She gave me a bear hug, whispering "I..I love you", she said hastily. I can feel her face heating up. she really ain't used to say that word..maybe 'like', yes but 'i love you', it's too intense.

"me too" I hugged her back
