Shawn's POV

I sat in the hospital chair, tears streaming down my face. I couldn't believe it. THEY MUST BE WRONG! She can't be gone...I never even got the chance to say goodbye properly. 

I got shaken out of my deep thoughts, by a nurse, "You can go in and see your daughter sir."
"S-She...Is a girl." I half smiled. 
Y/N always wanted a girl. She would have been so happy. She would have loved her so much. A few more tears rolled down my face as I nodded and made my way towards the nursery, where my beautiful daughter slept peacefully.

I entered the small room and sat beside the cot. She was gorgeous. She looked just like Y/N. Tears spilt out of my eyes as I looked down at her. She looked so peaceful...So happy. All me and Y/N wanted was a family. This should be the happiest day of our lives but how could it be. I lost Y/N...She was gone...My soulmate was truly gone. My daughter was all I had left, apart from the hundreds of incredible memories we shared. 

I slowly picked her up and cradled her small body in my protective arms. She needed me to be strong! She needed me to care for her...To love her. Her tiny fingers wrapped around my thumb and her little eyes opened slowly. Her Y/E/C eyes looked just like Y/N's.

Y/N always wanted to call her daughter Lily, if she had one. Lily Mendes sounded good...
"Lily Mendes..." I muttered to myself.
I sat in a daunting silence, just rocking Lily back and forth. Memories of Y/N circled around my mind and tears rolled down my red cheeks. She was truly gone. I couldn't see her anymore. No more waking up together or late night convocations. No more movie nights or fancy dates. It was just me now.

"It just you and I, Lily" I kissed her forehead, lightly, "Your mother would be so in love with you. She would be so happy right now...She isn't really gone. She will be watching down on both of us, making sure we are safe. She would have wanted to stay and see you but I guess she just had to go. I will make sure you know how amazing your mother was, I promise you that."
I looked out of the large window in the room, "She was so happy when she found out she was pregnant, we both were. She was so excited to meet you and watch you grow...I guess she never got the chance to do that but I'm going to make sure you get everything you need. I love you so much and I'm going to be strong for you."

slowly, Lily drifted off to sleep as I hummed Y/N's favourite song. My heart was broken but I would make a way through it. I had to! I had Lily to look after.
