Xyder Zephyr - POV;

"Once we defeat Blaze, we'll get back our friends and we'll get back the book. From there, the Devil should be within an arm's grasp. Stop frustrating yourself trying to find another way," I told my sister, placing my hand on her shoulder.

"But there's no guarantee that-" Evie started to complain but she was interrupted by my sudden action of placing my finger across both her lips.

"Shh."

"Fine, you're right Xy," she conceded, "I should be focused on winning this thing. I can't afford to let all these distractions get to be. Thanks for bringing me bavk Xy. It's just, everything is so hard to deal with at the moment. So much is going on and I don't know how everyone else seems to be getting by much better than I can. Especially you and Dagan. Through all of this, both of you continue leading us with heads held high. You're amazing.... I'm just....... weak."

"Whack!"

"Ouch! Why?!" Evie cried out holding her head where I'd just tapped her.

"Why? That's because you're spewing garbage. Evelynn, you're probably the only one that has truly kept me going all these years without losing myself and who I am. If I didn't have you by my side every step of the way, I'm afraid of whom I might have become. A sheep without its shepherd will become lost. So calling yourself weak is calling me even weaker, and I can't let such an insult slide," I explained.

Evelynn looked at me wide eyed before breaking out into certainly unsubtle laughter and punching me on the chest.

"Look at you saying things like this to make me blush. If I weren't your sister I'd  marry you on the spot with words like that, you big idiot," she smiled.

"Hey, waitress girl! Over here!"

"I'm coming!" Satella yelled in response.

The exchange of words had caught my attention and I turned to watch, staring at the uniformed girl far longer than I should have. Evelynn and I were currently in the dining area of the hotel at an isolated corner where Evie had been slaving away on her research about the Deities. For one reason or another, the hotel found itself short staffed and Satella offered to help them fill in, for a reasonable pay as well, and so here we were.

"Stop undressing her with your eyes pervert," Evie whispered in my ear, shocking me and bringing me back to reality.

"Haha! Look at you jump!" she laughed, referring to my reaction.

"Oh shut up," I muttered.

"Hey, it pisses me and a few of the others off watching you two be oblivious  and annoying everyday so I'm just going to say it; Satella likes you and it's clear that you also like her."

"Huh? Well of course we like each other. We've been friends for over ten years. Storm too. We all like each other," I responded.

"Oh my God.... are you serious? That's not what I meant you dense protagonist. I mean you and her like like each other. You know, attracted to each other so much that you want to have s-"

"Just stop Evie....." I sighed, "You're right and I'll give you that. It's not like I don't know either. It's just that I'm afraid of losing our friendship. Besides, there's Cheryl I have to consider as well."

"She's not here now though. I'm sure she's being put through all sorts of erotic things by Blaze anyway so how abput you tale my camera along with Satella, go to the room and then-"

"Shut up Evelynn."

"Aww, you're no fun," she pouted
