114 - Naomi's Plea

Xyder Zephyr - POV;

"Your honour, as you may know, on the night preceeding the second match of the ongoing interclan tournament a great tragedy struck Fenix City. Over that single night, untold destruction occurred in the outskirts of the city. In a matter of hours, much of the infrastructure was completely over-run and obliterated. The corpses of demon dogs, hell hounds and the body of the Legendary Beast Fenrir were all discovered at the scene the next morning. Such creatures could only mean one thing. A demon led them as his forces to attack the city. The prosecution believes that the members of Blaze, found dead at the scene, fought against this invading force, hence the bite and sratch marks they sustained. In the end, the most fatal wounds on these men were the gaping demonic claw marks left in their chests. As the defense has proven with a witness and footage, Xyder Zephyr and company were going to the scene of the crime and thus, were present when it occurred. Furthermore, as previously established, Xyder Zephyr has made it clear to the world that he is, indeed, of demonic blood. Xyder Zephyr led the attack against Fenix City and when he was stopped by Blaze, he killed them! The prosecution would like to extend these charges to his accomplices, including his sister, Evelynn Zephyr, standing alongside him as we speak!"

"Wh-what?!" Evelynn exclaimed, taking a step back.

"Cuff her!" the judge ordered as two large men rushed towards the girl and roughly hand-cuffed her behind her back much like myself.

"Speak, Mr. Zephyr, who is your third accomplice? The male which accompanied the two of you?" the prosecutor sneered.

"I don't know who you're talking about," I lied.

"Tight-lipped are we? Don't worry, you'll be brought to justice.

"The case of Xyder and Evelynn Zephyr will be continued tomorrow morning. The prosecution should use this time to find the identity of the third alleged accomplice and both parties should take the opportunity to gather as much evidence as can be found. Court is now dismissed."

Xyder Zephyr - POV;

"Trust me Xyder, Evelynn... I will get the two of you out of here. I promise you," Naomi assured as our time came to a close. She was removed from the meeting room of the jail and after ensuring we were securely cuffed, Evelynn and I were led to our shared cell.

I was dropped  to the ground by an abrupt shove from the guard overseeing me and Evelynn was tossed in beside me after being touched near her waist by  another male. I didn't expect hospitality from these officers of Fenix but I couldn't forgive their disrespect of my sister. Luckily for them, the slammed the gate shut before I could rise from my vulnerable position. With both of our arms cuffed behind our back, it was difficult for both Evie and I to move efficiently. Eventually I managed to get myself into a seated postion and my sister shuffled closer to me, brushing her shoulder on mine and leaning against me.

"Evie?" I called her name.

"We were so worried... I was so worried. If anything were to happen to you I don't know how I'd have gone on living," she murmered.

"We still aren't out of hot water just yet you know. The case is still ongoing," I grunted.

"Maybe so but it's still a better situation, she hummed.

"How so?"

"The crime of killing a Heirarchy Official has been dropped. Naomi and her family is safe now. Any possible threat from the Heirarchy against our friends and the clan is gone... and even though the last thing I'd ever want is to see you die, if it absolutely, positively must happen, then I'd much rather go with you than stay behind," she whispered.
