Man has walked this land for many a millenia and has used its resources to not only survive but prosper. Early humans had adopted their own means of survival. It was one which witnessed constant altering and modification in order to optimise it for the changing circumstances. In summary, they held the power of adaptation.

It is told that the land consists of eight core elements: Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning, Earth & Nature, Ice, Shadow and Light.

Over 100 million years ago, Man came face to face with the Elemental Deities; powerful spirits whom ruled over their respective elements. Seeing the destruction and abuse Man had subjected the land to, the Deities fought against the entire race and sought the anhilation of the invasive pests.

Chaos ensued and the resilient humans met the devastating wrath of the Deities in a head-on war which would last a century without end.

At this point in time, for some reason yet unknown, the Deities had surrendered to the adamant species and a truce was formed between them both. On their final appearance before the people, the Deities had granted an eternal power to them in the form of an everlasting blessing.

"Until the world meets its end at the grasping arms of Armageddon, those whom call this pious land their home shall recieve an enduring strength."

The people were more than confused by the queer words of the immortal spirits. Without a further explanation, they had left the disoriented poulation with more questions than answers.

It was only when a young girl publically bended a ravenous flame to her own will did they reach some sort of realisation.

Man had been granted a dominion. A position to rule over that which constituted the very universe in which they lived. Man was blessed with the power of the elements.

As time proceeded, it became clear how this boon truly functioned. Each individual was granted strength by one of the Elemental Deities. This Deity would be known as their Guardian Deity and the human achieved the ability to control the element over which their Guardian presided. They were now called Elemental Vessels.

Not every person was as lucky either. While they all recieved to some degree, that degree varied immensely to the point that some could do no more than flicker a candle's flame.

As old generations gave way to new ones, the number of this population which still maintained their abilities slowly decreased and the number of normal humans sharply increased.

Noting the loss of Elemental Vessels, a number of individuals began a movement in a final attempt to preserve their disappearing heritage.

This movement gave rise to powerful ability-owning families or clans which ruled the land through political, economical, financial and physical means.

Each clan held dominion over one element and based their entire society around that one Deity whom they would worship as a God. All members of that clan would have the abilities of their own Deity and the rare few whom would very occasionally appear in a generation bearing another element would have great restrictions placed on them by most clans.

Of all of these Elemental Clans, there exists one which has proven to not adhere to these unofficially preset 'laws'.

The Zephyr Clan has forever prided itself in the fact that among its members, one can find wielders of all elements; a feat unseen by the other families. In order to encompass all its people, the clan idolises all of the Deities and provides the necessary resources for the development of all.

With such demands it was no surprise when the clan grew tremendously in strength, wealth, size and physical space by all means possible to become one of the most influential families in the world.

Not too much is known, even to those whom hold the title, how and by whom the Zephyr clan was founded nor why it seemed to break the boundaries which seemed to have been set but it is believed that the original leader had been birthed from the Deities themselves.

The position as head of the family is passed from parent to child in order to preserve the original bloodline and hold true to the tales passed down for generations. This custom was to remain the staple in the family for the rest of its lifespan but when an unforseen turn of events present themselves, the clan is thrown into disarray.
