Xyder Zephyr - POV;

"You insignificant trash!" a male voice echoed angrily followed by a resounding slap.

"Ahh!" a girl cried out as she fell to the ground.

That night I had taken a late trip to the twenty-four/seven pharmacy a few blocks away from the hotel in order to acquire something that could relieve Evelynn's incessant headaches. She had been complaining for a few days that they had been growing worse and it made sleeping difficult. I'm not sure if she was joking or just delusional but I swear I remember her striking a pose and claiming that she was evolving into a goddess and the pain was part of it... or something like that I think?

Either way, as I returned to the hotel, a slight commotion caught my attention in the dimly lit private parking lot along my route. Three armored, black SUVs had pulled to a stop randomly inside the lot and the dark-suited men that were within the vehicles had poured out and formed a semi-circle as they stood at attention. At the centre were four distinct individuals: two girls in their late teens, a young adult male and an older man.

The older man had been shouting at one of the girls and his ultimately culminated in his solid blow to her face which left her reeling. They seemed familiar but from this distance I couldn't be too certain. Thus, I casually stepped a bit closer to confirm my suspicions. Once there, I had no doubt in my mind as to who they were.

Sporting a dark-blue business suit, gloved hands and slicked back, blue hair was none other than Regulus Noel Glacia. He towered angrily over the sobbing girl before swiftly taking hold of her long, light blue hair and wrenching her head backwards. She let out a pained yelp but quickly bit her lip as if trying to hold in her voice. For the first time, I could clearly see her face and it quickly became obvious that I'd met her before... Lilac Glacia: Nero's close partner and girlfriend.

"You stupid-" Regulus Noel started as he slammed the back of his hand into her cheek, flattening her.

"This is all because of you! You just had to go and fuck around with Duran's son! Now with Blaze under fire and rumors running rampant, Glacia has taken a huge hit because you took it upon yourself to spread you lr slutty legs for those pieces of shit! All investors had to hear was that Glacia was involved with the head of Blaze and now they've begun to pull out! Our stocks have plummeted!" he roared, "Not to mention the fact that the World Heirarchy has become weary of us because of the rumoured connection between Blaze and Glacia! On the other hand, Astra has skyrocketed because of their role in putting Blaze to sleep! Who are you really a part of?! Because it doesn't seem that the answer is the Glacia Clan!"

I continued to walk, deciding that this battke wasn't mine to partake in. Besides, a part of me didn't want to help her... not after everything Nero had done.

"Look at you! You're a disgrace to our Clan and our people!" he spat, shaking her roughly by her collar.

"Isn't that enough?"

Lord Glacia and his band of associates stopped suddenly and turned to face me upon hearing my voice. Under the cover of darkness, I was able to reach only a few feet behind the group.

"Who's there?!" one of the bodyguards growled as he flashed a torch on me.

"Zephyr. Xyder Zephyr," I responded bluntly as I stared at Lilac before turning to the Regulus himself.

"Stand down. We don't need any more trouble for pointing firearms at Zephyr's Heir," Lord Glacia instructed his entourage.

"What are you doing?" I pressed nonchalantly.

"None of your business," the young adult male, who stood beside Lord Noel, muttered as he flipped his spiked, white hair.

"Deter, Frost," Regulus Glacia told him before addressing me again, "This doesn't concern you Zephyr. It's a personal matter."

"Be that as it may, I'm not sure I can just ignore you as you beat a girl senseless in the middle of the city," I muttered.

He narrowed his eyes at me before lighting a cigar and continuing, "We were just about done here anyway. You can have the whore if that's what you want. She's no longer a part of our family."

With those vitriol filled words, he walked past me without acknowledgment, accompanied by Frost. The second teenage girl followed behind them but just as she was about to pass me, I called out to her, "Were you really okay with all of this, Eira?"

The Regulus Heir of Glacia stopped perfectly beside me and pushed the pure white hair off of her pale skin as she smiled, "I am the daughter of the Regulus of Glacia. It is my duty to follow my father's orders and to support his endeavors."

"You aren't the kind of person who would allow this," I whispered.

"In some ways you are skeptical but in many ways you are too trusting," Eira giggled, "The Elemental Clans are not your friends, Xyder Zephyr. You may have gotten lucky with Astra and Neptulus because of your little girlfriends and their fathers but you shouldn't expect the rest of us to be so inviting. Even now, there are two groups that the Clans can fall into: Those who hate Fenix and don't want them win or those who want to see Zephyr totally and utterly destroyed because we are tired of your reign. Be careful who you get close to Xyder, or you just might fall into a trap. One wrong move and..."

As she finished her words, her fingers abruptly shot towards me. In one, swift motion, she pulled the glove off of her right hand and pressed her middle finger against my face while creating a 'gun' like shape with her right fingers.

"BANG!" she exclaimed playfully, "No more Xyder."

"Eira, no! Don't touch him with your bare hands! You'll be executed by the Heirarchy for killing an heir of a clan!" Frost shouted in horror!

"Don't worry," she grinned as I held her hand and moved it away, "My powers won't do him anything... at least not passively. He's strong and he possesses dominion over ice amongst everything else. So long Xyder. Perhaps we will meet again one day."

In seconds, the vehicles screeched as they disappeared down the streets, leaving myself and a forlorn Lilac all alone. Se sat on the ground, half curled up into a ball as she glared at the concrete beneath her.

"How long are you going to stand there and stare?" she grumbled.

"Are you okay?" I inquired.

"Why do you care?" she shot back bitterly.

"Can you go home on your own?" I questioned.

"Hah. Like you didn't just hear that I lost my place in Glacia."

"Don't you have anywhere else?" I asked

"There was one more place I could have gone but you already took that away. I'm sure you know what I mean," she growled.

I thought for a second and then sighed, "You mean Nero?"

"Tch," was her only response.

"Where is he? Him and the rest of Blaze ran after our match. They are criminals in hiding you know. If you keep any information to yourself, you could face consequences," I informed her.

"Like hell I know! You and your shitty family are the ones who destroyed him and Blaze!" she snapped.

"What? He attacked us first!" I shot back, a bit annoyed.

"You don't know what he has been going through!" she yelled. I grew silent at her outburst but I continued to glare at her as she slowly rose to her feet.

"You should have left Glacia to kill me. I have nothing to live for anymore," she hissed, "If anything, I should have died a long time ago. Maybe then he would have tried to escape."

"Escape? What are you talking about?" I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Go to hell Xyder Zephyr," Lilac stated in a monotone as she stumbled away, "I hate you."
