Chapter 91 - Walk of Shame
Xyder Zephyr - POV;
"Did he say murder?"
"He killed someone?!"
"Well, you can't expect much better from a demon can you?"
"To think I actually supported a psychopath in this tournament."
"Hey, we should wait to hear exactly what's going on before we decide anything."
"I'm sure it's true. Haven't you ever seen demons in action? They're bloodthirsty barbarians."
"Zephyr has always been said to be the lowest of lows in their tactics honestly but I never believed it. If their heir can do this.... I have to say I'm no longer convinced they're innocent."
A chorus of words peppered with bitterness and hate erupted from the hordes of onlookers, all either members of or closely tied to the Elemental Clans.
"Stand back! Make room!" one of Grisha's subordinates yapped at the by-standers.
"Get to your feet!" Grisha demanded, pulling me sharply after he'd cuffed my hands behind me.
"We've arrived with the van Elite High Commander Astra, sir. However, we can't get too close. The media is already swarming the entire exterior of the building. There's at least hundreds if not over thousands of people outside here," Grisha's radio suddenly blared.
"It's fine, I'll get him there no problem. Just stay where you are recruit," Grisha responded.
"Yes, sir! We will comply!"
Grisha pressed against my back, indicating for me to start walking.
"Father what are you doing?!" Indira barked, running up to us.
"Taking in a criminal," he responded nonchalantly.
"What the hell are you saying?! Are you crazy?! Have you forgotten who he is?! He saved us! It's very possible we'dbe dead if it wasn't for him!" she exclaimed.
"And I'm grateful for it. Even so, I cannot violate my duties and my position in order to let him go free. Now stay out of my way Indira! Don't interfere with my official business!" he boomed.
"I ought to-" she snapped, preparing to lunge forward.
"Indira!" Nariko murmered, holding her sister's arm, "Please stop. Listen to father."
Even though it was evident she did it reluctantly, Indira eventually gave in to her younger sister's plea.
"Go and tell the Regulus of each clan that I need their aid to get him outside. There's an army of people who can't mind their own business out there," Grisha commanded his daughters and they nodded in response.
"Sir," one of Grisha's female associates called out, "What should we do with the girl?"
Satella lay breathing heavily on the floor. It was evident that she'd been experiencing immense pain.
"We've already administered an antidote that will save her life," Grisha responded, "Once we've removed the culprit from the premises, we should have one of our squad's own ambulances come by to lift her to a hospital for further treatment." Two of you stay behind with her just to make sure."
"Doesn't he need treatment too sir? Even though you held back immensely, you still delivered him devastating blows," she continued, referring to me.
"It was the plan at first but he seems to have already healed alot from those injuries. He'll fix himself in a day of incarceration," Grisha assured her.
