"Here you go...." Dev forwarded his phone to her and Sonakshi gazed at it confusedly.

"Why?"

"You can call that idiotic friend of yours!" he frowned as Sona's eyes widened.

Sona's POV

The moment he handed me the phone, my happiness knew no bounds. I quickly dialed Abhi's number and waited for the call to get through. However, the ring ended in a few minutes. I kept trying again and again but unfortunately, luck wasn't on my side. Abhi didn't receive the call at all. What is he doing? My heart sank and tears welled up in my eyes.

Damn Abhi!

My lips formed a pout as I looked at the monster infront of me apologetically. I blinked away the tears and handed him back the phone.

"He is not picking up...." I said and gulped my saliva painfully. In these moments, I feel so dehumanized, like a person whose life is meant to be controlled according to people's need. But right after Dev picked up his phone, he scooped me up from the car and hugged me.

I was taken aback by surprise. After all these tantrums I did, I didn't expect him to give me a hug. Hell, I didn't even know how to react. It wasn't the usual dominating hug.....instead, it was comforting and gentle. We were still standing outside his house and the hug made me feel so emotional. It made me feel so human, so respected.....I didn't hug him back and he didn't force me either. It was just a much needed moment. Finally he pulled away and analyzed my face.

"Stop crying about that little boy.....It's kind of killing me inside" he said pointing his chest and I rolled my eyes.

"Stop calling Abhi like that....."

"Whatever I just don't like him..... If he was so worried about you, he should have come running to find you! ................You are just so....urggh. Anyway, follow me inside" he said leading the way and I slowly walked behind him.

When I took another step, my mind went blank. Suddenly, I felt like the world was spinning around me. I was getting dizzy from standing in the rain for too long. I closed my eyes and forced myself to count to three. When I opened, Dev was already infront of his gate. I quickly gathered myself towards him with slow steps and sighed tiredly.

"Will your mum be okay with me......staying in your house? Plus.....I have arrived so late..." I asked hesitantly.

"Relax sunshine..." he winked playfully while I scowled. Idiot!

When the door opened, I met with the biggest surprise of the night. If I thought that my day couldn't have gone worse, then the person standing behind the door, proved me wrong!

"Ms Asha?"

"Sonakshi?"

Both of us exclaimed together while Dev leaned on the pillar and looked at us with amused expression. What the hell is wrong with him? Why is Ms Asha at his house? God.....is this another prank of his?

I stood there motionless and horrified, unaware of the time passing. No thoughts came to my mind except the fact that my life was screwed. I glanced over at Dev for answers but he was unusually quiet. His eyes was staring behind me, like he was lost in thoughts.

Why did he bring me here.....wait are they even related?

Dev's POV

I couldn't really tell what both of them were thinking. It was as if they had both frozen on their spot. I could see my mother's expression changing from confusion to anger, and finally turning into concern. Sonakshi was stunned. I was too caught up with thinking about an explanation to give my mother that I didn't even notice Sonakshi giving me a questioning glance. After what seemed like forever, I decided to break the silence.
