"But pandit ji.... Is there any nearest dates that I can change it? Previously another pandit told me that these were good dates" Asha grew pale.
"I am sorry Asha ji. I can only tell you what I know. I am not like others...who would lie to make people happy. I only speak the truth and this is what I see...." He paused and looked at Asha firmly.
"You son's marriage would not happen...."

"Arjun, you know very well that respect you a lot.... Your dedication to your work and the success you have reached in these few years are really incredible. In fact, you are a higher officer to me... I have always looked up to your success and the way you handle cases.....But..." Arvind paused and looked at Arjun with a calculative stare.
"It's okay, you can tell me anything Arvind sir..." Arjun said after taking a deep breath.
"Arjun beta, all this is work. But keeping it aside, I would like to talk to you as Tara's father now." He paused and sighed heavily. Looking at his expressions, Arjun already predicted the question that was going to be asked.
"Have you told Tara about your job?", the moment the question was asked, an awkward silence occupied the place.
Arjun knew it! He knew that it was this question that her father was going to ask. But how will he answer it? Saying the truth or the lie? Either way, he would still be in trouble.
"No..." he breathed out.
Arvind just nodded and linked his fingers together. Slouching in his armchair, he gazed at the young man who was sitting with a straight face. He could see Arjun's dilemma even through the calmness of his face. Although he had managed to pull down a strong, intimidating look, his mind was at war.
Arvind admired the brutal honesty and the straightforwardness in Arjun all the time. But he had a few questions he wanted to clear too.
"Look Arjun, it's every father's wish to see his daughter get married into a good family...and especially to a good guy. In such a case, I am more than pleased to give my daughter to you... But, your job comes with a great risk that can affect my daughter's future too..... If you were in my position, what would you have done?" Arvind asked carefully, and Arjun's eyebrows furrowed.
"Well, if your in-laws thought about that... then you wouldn't have gotten married either." Arjun retorted without stumbling.
Arvind gave him an amused look and chuckled in amazement.
"That's true..... But the reason my wife was never happy in our marriage, was largely because of my work too.... And I would never want my daughter to go through that, would I?" Arvind raised an eyebrow and Arjun was dumbstruck.
He didn't know what to say. This was something he never expected from Arvind. Does this mean that his love life had a threat?
"Sir, but we love-"
"Love without knowing each other fully?" Arvind asked.
"No... I mean... apart from my job, I have not hidden anything else from her. Tara means a lot to me and it's nothing like what you think. I will give her all the love and attention that she needs... She would never be deprived of anything in my house. My family will love her exactly the way you would want her to be... I can guarantee you of that." Arjun gulped and said in a pleading tone.
Arvind sighed and looked at Arjun. There was deep honesty and desperation in his tone. He understood that Tara and Arjun really loved each other. But was their love huge enough to face the storms in their lives?
