"I............I want to continue my education.....please.....and then, we can get married....whenever you want" I said slowly holding his arms.

"Uncle.........I want Sonakshi to complete her educations first! Let her go London...and then-" Karthik started.

"What are you saying Karthik? Did Sona say something to you?" Sanjay's voice hardened.

"No...she didn't. But the whole village knows it... If we stop Sonakshi's education now, we may face trouble from Natasha's father and I don't want problems in the marriage. Let's just let her go there..... It's only a few more years" Karthik said as Rinitha and Sanjay frowned at him.

"What are you saying Karthik beta? We also have another daughter after her. We have the responsibility of getting Jia married too! Another 4 years? Can't she get married and study?" Rinitha grunted in frustration.

She couldn't bear to see Sonakshi achieving her dreams. She was always jealous of Sonakshi's looks and how intelligent the girl was. She wanted her daughter Jia to also become a doctor but unfortunately, that remained as a dream.

"Nevermind mom! Let Sona go...... after all, we would at least enjoy some years of peace" Jia said as she looked at Karthik with a flirty smile.

Jia was a completely opposite of Sonakshi. She had no interest in studies and was completely dumb in nature. She hated Sonakshi to an extreme as she believed that Sona always managed to get the limelight in her college. All the guys who Jia liked, had a crush on Sona.

Jia always fell for guys whom had money.....and now, she had started developing feelings for Karthik. Knowing that he too wanted Sonakshi, made her blood boil in anger.

"I am not changing my decision. I want Sona to complete her studies before she gets married! Until then, we will get engaged first, so that everyone knows that she is mine!" Karthik said firmly as everyone got shocked.

Sonakshi who was listening to this from the kitchen, couldn't control her happiness. For once, her studies wasn't the reason for her happiness. She was happy because she finally managed to escape the house which gave her immense pain and tortures. She wasn't even bothered about the engagement Karthik mentioned about. If he was going to give her the freedom to study, she didn't mind accepting him as her life partner. Marriage was the last thought on her mind.

Weeks passed, and Sona's engagement was also complete. Sonakshi didn't feel anything towards her engagement. No happiness, excitement or sadness. She just felt numb and broken. She still recalled his words that night...

"I will allow you to go......but if you ever fail to keep your promise, I am sure you will see hell Sona! I have waited for so many days....and finally you are coming to me willingly..." he smiled as he hugged her tightly.

"You need to know that I always get what I want....and now......" he traced her jawline and kissed her earlobes.

"You are all I need!"

Sona looked at the ring shining at her finger. Karthik was everything else, but a guy she ever wanted. He smoked, drank and even did drugs. He clearly confessed her that night that he wanted nothing more than a physical relationship from Sonakshi. He had also warned her that if she ever tried to escape, he would kill everyone around her including her family and friends.

With a heavy heart, Sonakshi packed things which were essential for her London trip. Natasha had informed her that a car would pick her up straight from her house and drop her at the airport. No one came to bid her farewell. Her family was just fuming at her departure.
