"Dev.... If I ask you something, would you answer me truthfully?"

"Yea?"

"Is loving someone wrong?"

The moment Sonakshi asked the question, Dev's face changed. His eyes narrowed with curiosity and hands held hers' tighter.

"Of course not, Sona..... why do you ask that?" he asked cupping her face in his palms. But she didn't reply. Her throat was clogged with pain that she couldn't even speak.

"Is it about Abhi?" Dev asked carefully, and she nodded.

Dev walked closer and sat next to her.

"Hey sunshine..." that's all he said before she completely broke down in tears. She buried her face in her hands and cried softly.

"Don't call me that anymore. I am not your sunshine.... I am nobody. I do not belong here Dev. I am useless and a coward. Natasha was right.... I betrayed her. Maybe if I hadn't met you outside the restaurant, you wouldn't have known me. If I hadn't been so stupid, I wouldn't have kissed you back. Although Natasha treated me like shit, I still would have been safe in her house....I am dumb! Nothing but dumb. Now, everything is just gone. I will hurt you in the end and ruin your life as well.....Please.....don't be nice towards me. Punish me, treat me like your slave or just throw me away. I don't deserve anything you are giving me.....because-" she broke as Dev watched her with wide eyes.

"Because you love Abhi?" he finished as her face paled.

".............Dev...I" she couldn't speak as a low sob left her lips.

He couldn't believe that she was thinking so much inside her. Instead of feeling angry, all he felt was sympathy. He couldn't understand the amount of pain she was carrying because she never expressed it. She never knew how to express them. Whenever he saw her, all she tried was masking an emotion which never belonged to her.

"You know something? Loving someone is not a sin Sona.... It's a beautiful feeling. You aren't doing anything wrong Sona..... even if the whole world is against you, if you like a person then you would never regret your actions."

"But... I have never seen the kind of love you are talking about... I never got to know the beautiful feeling you are talking about. For me, love is just about companionship and....maybe care. I can't idolize the kind of love you say..." she blinked as she wiped her tears.

"Because you never wanted to see that kind of love... it was your choice Sonakshi. Love is not about seeing. It's all about feeling and you preferred not to feel it."

"Why would I do that?" she asked.

"Because you are scared..... scared that love will destroy you! You are scared that you won't be able to return that kind of love back............and you are scared that your family will destroy the small part of your heart, which still holds the love......" he said moving closer.

"Dev..." Sona sighed as he leaned in towards her.

"You know, let's just talk like friends okay? Now tell me, what do you feel towards Abhi...?"

"Okay, but promise me. You won't be biased......... Ok?" she asked and he smiled.

"Promise" he tapped her nose.

"Um...actually I like Abhi... I don't exactly know what I feel for him but I like spending time with him. He makes me feel important. Like when he does small things for me, I really admire it. After some time, I started caring for him more than what I intended. But now.......... I am scared about my life with him." She spoke as he listened to her carefully.
