What happened next was so fast that she didn't even have time to register it in her brain.
She was grabbed by her arms and instantly tackled on the floor. Holding her by her neck, a gun was already pointed towards her forehead. Sona gawked at him with disbelief. Her eyes moved between him and the weapon he was holding.
"Dev?"
"Sonakshi?"

Dev's POV
Driving at late nights had become a norm for me. Usually, I am a person who loved long drives, but Sona's grandparent's house was built in a deserted area. There were no street lights or proper roads for the place. It just irritated me to the extreme.
Just when I was driving, there was a red light alert blinking in my mobile. Quickly halting my car in a corner, I picked up and analysed that Sona's tracking device was switched off. What the hell?
Did she take her earrings out? Probably.... But why suddenly? I tried calming myself down and immediately started the car. I knew she would be alright. If there was something wrong, the security outside would have alerted me.
When I reached their house, everything seemed normal. I asked the guard whether he spotted anything weird and when he told me 'nothing', I sighed in relief. I rushed in and saw Sona's grandparents sitting in the living area. Their eyes brightened when they saw me. Giving them a warm smile, I greeted them and slowly walked towards Sona's room. But the minute I glanced at the door, I knew something wasn't right. The door was halfway opened.
I knew Sona would never open her door halfway. She would either close it fully or open it. But this was fishy. The time now was already past her bed time. What could possibly happen? Maybe she forgot to close it?
But there was definitely something unusual there. There was a movement behind the door. Yes, there was definitely someone behind there. My eyes widened, and I slowly got hold of my gun which I had secured near my socks. When I stepped in, I felt a pair of hands trying to hold me. Quickly twisting the person's arm, I tackled them to the floor and pointed the gun at her head.
But that's where I went wrong!
Sonakshi?
*End of POV*
There was an eerie silence in the room. The silence was a poison to them, for in that void of sound the shallowness of their conversation was laid bare. Dev placed his gun away and slowly released her from his clutch. Helping her to sit up straight, he just walked away in frustration.
He couldn't believe what he just did there. It was indeed the stupidest move he had ever taken. One wrong move, and she could have been injured badly. There were so many thoughts that ran in his mind over the past few seconds. Brushing his hair with his fingers, he sat on the bed with a grumpy face.
Words let Sona's lips. She blinked her eyes repeatedly and opened her mouth to say something, but nothing was coming out. She felt like she was stuck underwater. Her mind went blank and eyes were widely staring at the gun he placed on the table. She wasn't angry or upset. The way he handled her in a minute, just took her by shock.
She just looked at him and gulped to grasp the right words. She understood that he was mad. One thing that she had learnt the past few months was, no one should mess with angry Dev. If he gets angry, even the devil would cry.
"So, care to explain what that stunt was all about?" Sona flinched at his harsh tone. Stunt? Seriously?
"I.... wasn't pulling any stunts. You did." She answered nonchalantly.
