The future Hokage

*third person POV

The young Uchiha woke up and grieve over his family, and clan. Life went on in the village with Minato training Naruto in the was of the flying thunder god technique, as Sasuke plotted against his brother. At age eight both of the boys joined the academy, but but tried to keep their last names a secret. Naruto the mute son of the Hokage, and Sasuke Uchiha, the soul survivor of his clans genocide became rivals. Both boys had groups of fan girls following them everywhere, and the one thing that they could agree on was that they were annoying. Sasuke began getting over his family's death, and made a few friends in the academy, but Naruto stuck to himself spending most of his time reading or training. The were both top of their class, both of them battling for the top spot. When it came to graduation they both scored a perfect one hundred percent, and became Genins by the age of thirteen.

time skip 8 years to before the graduation exam in the anime

*Naruto's POV

Today was graduation day. I was so excited I was running around the house t get stuff done. I ate food quickly I washed the dishes I cleaned my room. My father came downstairs and made some tea

"Are you ready for today?" he asked sipping his tea. I eagerly nodded my head and drank my morning tea in one gulp. This caused him to laugh. "you know the academy doesn't open until seven o'clock right" He said I eagerly nodded my head looking out the window for the first time to see that the sun wasn't even up yet. I dropped my head in embarrassment, and looked up at my father with a big grin on my face and shrugged my shoulders . He laughed again spilling a bit of his tea. I jumped up and got a towel, and brought it to him.

"since you are up so early do you want to come to the office with me" he asked. I jumped up in excitement and nodded my head. "ok" he said go grab my cloak and we will go". I ran up stairs and grabbed his cloak as I walked by the bathroom I looked in the mirror. I walked into the bathroom and looking into the mirror I put the cloak on. I ran my fingers down the silk that it was made out admiring the the fire emblem on the sleeve.

"You look good in it" my father said walking up behind me. I quickly took off the cloak and handed it to him with my head bowed in shame. He pushed my hand away and bent his knees to look me in the eyes

"Hey this can still be your dream" he said pushing the cloak into my chest "no Hokage has ever been perfect." I looked into my fathers eyes with tears in them I knew what he was telling me could never happen. No one would except a mute Hokage. I would be more of a burden then Someone who helps. I pushed the cloak into his arms and walked out of the room wiping the tears out of eyes. I walked down stairs and grabbed my jacket which was white with two orange strips near the bottom. It had a combination of the Namizaki and the Uzumaki clan symbol combined in the back. I also wore an orange shirt under it and black cargo pants. My father walked down in his normal attire and his Hokage cloak on.

"Let's go" he said walking out the door and teleporting into his office. I quickly followed behind him and soon found myself in his office.

"Naruto" he said putting his hand on my shoulder "this can still be yours" he said. I just stood there as he then walked over to his desk and started filling out paper work. After being in his office for so many years I knew how to help him with paper work. Call it illegal but I could forge my father signature, so I signed off on some of the lesser things like accepting D and some C ranked missions. I gave most of the big things to my father. Today I came across something weird. It was a letter from the Kazekage asking if the land of fire would host this next years chinin exams. I walked over to his desk reading the letter further.

"What is it" he asked. I handed him the paper with a questioning look on my face. He read through the paper and looked up at me.

"The land of fire is trying create a stronger bond with the other nation so we are trying to get everyone to join in on a group Chunin exams. The land of wind has already agreed and hopefully in years to come the other major nation will join." He said going back to the paper work. I looked out the window and saw the sun coming up above the horizon. I waved goodbye to my father and jumped out the window teleporting to the academy. I was still the first one there so I sat out side until Iruka sensei came to open the doors

"Hey Naruto" he exclaimed to me as I ran up to him. I waved hi and went to my classroom. I sat down and waited for people to start showing up. I sat there for maybe an hour until everyone made there way into the classroom including Sasuke. As he walked up to his seat we both glared at each other.

'He still doesn't have those eyes' I told myself as I stared into his black eyes. He sat in his seat a few seats behind me. Iruka sensei walked into the room and started class.

"Today is the first part of your graduation exam. I need Riki Yuto, Izumi Sadara, and Naruto Nami-" Iruka began to say but quickly stopped himself "Naruto Uzumaki". At school no one knows my last name. Some could probably guess but they have never asked or said anything. I don't use the flying thunder god or the teleportation technique here to help hide my identity. I walked up to the front of the classroom and walked out the door with the other two student Iruka sensei called. As I walked out the door out of the corner of my eye I could feel his eyes on me. I glanced up to where Sasuke was, and for a second I thought I saw a glimpse of red in his eyes. I held my burning throat all the way to the exam room.
