You were in the middle of cooking dinner (Spaghetti, and homemade pizza, yum) while you heard a knock on your door. You looked up from the pot. You were in the middle of stirring the noodles. You lowered the heat and wiped your hands on a nearby towel. You were wearing an apron with flour on it from the pizza dough you just made.

You wiped some flour off your face but you just think it just spread some more. You curse, damn flour.

You walked over to the door and opened it.

Jack looked up from his feet and met your eyes. You tilted your head, silently asking what's up. Jack took a breath in and asked, "Um, hey ______, what are you doing right now?"

That was such a dumb question. I  just could've texted her that. What was I thinking?! Jack thought.

You smiled, amused that Jack came out of his apartment just to ask you that one simple question. You gestured at your apron and flour covered hands.

"Dinner" you replied. "Wanna help me?" You asked. "I might have made too much" you smiled sheepishly, shrugging your shoulders.

Jack grinned. "Yeah, I'll help you" he said and you step back to let him in and closed the door. While he walked into your home, he paused and looked at your face with a chuckle. You tilted your head. Did you look that weird?

He licked his thumb and lightly rubbed it against your check. You blinked. Oh yeah, the flour. When he pulled his hand back, you looked away from him with a light blush on your cheeks.

"Thanks" you mumbled and walked to your kitchen. You heard him laugh behind you.

You went over to the pot of spaghetti. "Can you shape the dough and add the sauce and the cheese?" You asked, some heat still on your cheeks.

"Yeah sure" he said.

"Thanks" you answered, smiling.

The kitchen was silent, but it was the kind of relaxed silence when you were working. The spaghetti was soon done but Jack wasn't done with his yet.

You walked next to him, watching him struggle. "Is it that hard to make a pizza?" You asked.

"Yes!" He said, exasperated. You laughed and got some flour and flicked it at him. Jack look shocked for a moment before he took some more flour and threw it in your hair.

"Hey!"

You grabbed a handful of some of the flour and threw it at his face. You laughed at him. His face was all covered in flour and in his hair, some falling on his shoulders. His eye twitched. You snorted.

"Why you!" He grabbed the small bag of flour and shoved some in your face. You yelled, then gagged because some got in your mouth.

"SEAN WILLIAM MCLOUGHLIN!" You laughed and threw some of the extra flour at him and ducked when he threw some back. You ran around the kitchen, screaming at Jack to stop. Jack caught you and wrapped his arms around your waist to not let you get away and smothered you with flour. Jack laughed.

"You look like a ghost" he laughed. You huffed and rubbed your face against his shirt and looked at the piece of art you made.

Jack looked down and you swiped your finger up to knock his chin. He playfully glared at you, his arm pulling tighter around your waist and looked down at his shirt again. He groaned.

"Really? My shirt?" He asked, looking at you with a frown but you could sense that he was trying to hold a smile back. You raised an eyebrow with a smile pulled at your lips.

"That's the only thing you're worried about?" you asked as you pointed at his face and hair.

He chuckled. "Yeah, sure, that's the only thing I'm worried about" he paused. "How about you?" He asked. He noticed that his arm was still around your waist but he didn't want to let go. You're fine with that.

"Well, I can't eat dinner with you like this" You said and pointed at yourself. Jack smiled. "Wanna finish up then we clean up?" He asked.

You smiled back. "I'd love too"

You rubbed the towel on your still wet hair. As you were walking to the kitchen, you heard the door to your apartment open. It was probably Jack. You went to the kitchen, leaving a trail of droplets of water behind you from your wet hair.

When you arrived to the kitchen, the food was still steaming hot. You smelled the pepperoni and vegetables that was from the pizza, and the sauce from the spaghetti.

You finally went to to the kitchen and stopped. Jack was finishing setting up the plates and food. You smiled.

"You're the guest, why are you setting it up?" You huffed but sat down on the tall island chair anyway. Jack sat at the other side.

"You invited me to eat with you, so I should at least help set up" Jack replied.

"But you already helped me" you whined.

"Well I wanna help you more" He said back. You rolled your eyes. "You know everybody needs help once in a while" he said softly.

"I don't need help"

"Yes you do, everybody does"

"But I don't"

Jack chuckled, "So stubborn" he looked at your food in front of you "Come on, let's eat" Jack said. He picked up some of his spaghetti and ate it, then sighed.

"This is good, as always" he winked.

Your eyes met his but you kept your head pointed at your plate. You gave him a lopsided smile.

"You don't have to keep complimenting me" you said, taking a bite of the pizza and stuffing some spaghetti into your mouth. Jack laughed at your mouth full of food.

"Well I'm just being honest, what, you want me to stop complimenting you?" He teased.

"No no, keep complimenting me, I like it" you grinned. Jack sighed and smiled.

You two kept eating and chatting. Talking about the newest games to your favorite things all while he keeps complimenting you.

"So, uh, do you wanna make another video with me, it's going to be a challenge video" You said, eating more spaghetti. You already finished the pizza. You groaned. "I'm gonna need to go to the gym sooner of later" you mumbled. Jack heard you and grinned.

"Yeah, I'd love to do another video with you. What challenge are you thinking?" He asked.

"Hmmm" you tapped the table with your finger, "How about Pie Face challenge?" You said.

Jack grinned, "Cool" he replied. You two finished dinner sooner or later. Jack collected the dishes and put them at in sink. You started to wash the dishes, Jack standing next to you with a towel to dry it off.

You would occasionally bump your hips with his, him doing the same to you. You grinned bashfully. You two finally finished the dishes and settled in the couch to watch something.

You pulled your knees up to your chest and got comfortable. Jack sat next to and also got settled. He yawned and stretched his arm in the air before putting it behind the couch. Behind your shoulders. You rolled your eyes.

"You're very cheesy and cliche huh?" You smiled at him.

Jack gave a sheepish smile at you. "I don't know what you're talking about" Jack answered, shrugging his shoulders but grinning wildly. You huffed and rested your head on his shoulder.

The two of you stayed like that until it got really dark outside. You could see some of the city lights and tiny squares that are windows from other buildings emitting light from it through your window. The quiet hum of the city and the noise of passing by cars made the night just a little bit better.
