Reconcile

Ria's POV

"Ano ba ang kaibahan ng vanilla at cream?" ani Chase at nagkamot ng ulo.

"Tsk." inirapan ko siya at lumapit sa aurai na kanina pa naghihintay sa oorderin namin.

"One gallon of mint chocolate. And.. two servings of both vanilla and cream.." nginitian ko ang aurai.

Kinuha ko ang dalawang cups ng ice cream at inabot kay Chase yung isa. Bitbit ko rin ang bag na may lamang isang gallon ng mint chocolate na itatago ko mamaya sa pinakalikurang bahagi ng freezer para walang makakakita.

Because I must be the first one to eat it.

It's one of my rules.

"Aren't we supposed to get on a vacation or some sort?" tanong ko nang maalala na magkakaroon pala kami ng break away from the school.

Tumango si Chase. "May narinig ata ako. Si Trev yung nag suggest."

That's odd.

"Where?" nakakunot ang aking noo.

Usually ako yung nag p-plano kapag mga ganyan. Malay ko ba kung anong pumasok sa isip ni Trev this time.

"Boeotia, Greece."

Napahinto ako sa paglalakad pagkatapos marinig yon. Binaba ko ang maliit na spoon at napatingin kay Chase.

"Isn't that where we had our... first mission?" I asked again.

Tumango siya.

"Huh." Nagtataka ako at nagpatuloy lamang sa paglalakad.

I have been continuously eating ice cream while thinking of possible reasons as to why Trev wants to go there kahit andaming lugar na pwede naming mapuntahan.

Kung gusto niya sa Greece, may Santorini naman na alam ko'y always recommended for tourists.

Sa Boeotia...

Sa Boeotia naroon ang lugar na Lebadeia. Kilala ang lugar na'to dahil isa ito sa mythological origin places.

Dito galing ang oracle na si Trophonius.

Siya at ang kapatid niya are some sort of great architects or builders during their time. Then the King of Boeotia ordered them to make a treasure chamber with a secret entrance na ang magkakapatid lang ang may alam.

Using the secret entrance, unti-unti nilang ninakaw ang kayamanan ng hari. Now, the king noticed this. Nag set siya ng trap to capture the thief once and for all.

Ang kapatid ni Trophonius ang nahuli sa trap ng hari. Before they could be discovered, pinugutan ni Trophonius ng ulo ang kanyang kapatid so no one can recognize that it was one of them that was caught in the trap. Tumakas siya at tumungo sa isang kweba sa Lebadeia at doon na nga siya naglaho ng tuluyan.

And then one day.

Nagkaroon ng malalang plague sa Lebadeia. The people consulted the Delphic Oracle which told them that they should look for the grave of an unnamed hero sapagkat galit daw ito for not being noticed.

The people searched everywhere but found nothing. Tumigil lamang yung pagdurusa ng mga taga-Lebadeia when a young shepherd followed a trail of bees to a hole in the ground. Imbes na makahanap ng honey...

Natagpuan niya ang bangkay ni Trophonius.

Well not really dahil naging daimon siya.

And from then on, Trophonius was worshipped as an oracle.
