a/n: two chapters since I wanted the next one to be separate for a reason

"If water isn't wet, then what is it? Dry?!"

Mr. Franklin blinked.

"...this is an English class. Not science, Mr. Johnson."

The boy's face tinted red as the classroom howled with laughter.  He sat down at his desk, putting his head down, trying to hide from his embarrassment. He obviously wasn't on his A-game today.

Mr. Franklin took his place in the front of the classroom. "Anyone else wants to give me the actual answer-"

The door opening interrupted Mr. Franklin.

"Sorry, I'm late," Jaxon said, giving Mr. Franklin a charming smile. His fangirls gasped and squealed with joy that the love of their life had shown up to school.

"Hi, Jaxon!" One of the girls shouted. Jaxon shot her a wink and she fainted.

"You've gotta be kidding me," I grumbled.

He sat in his seat next to me, leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed. I'm surprised he didn't say anything to me yet. I'm pretty sure he went to go see the man in the hoodie. I found myself looking at his features to see if there was anything different.

"Miss. Woods!"

I jumped, snapping my head to Mr. Franklin. He tapped his foot impatiently. The rest of the class was staring at me. I was caught staring at Jaxon. "Could you answer the question?"

"Uh... I'm sorry. What was it?"

He rolled his eyes. "Can you give me an example of a story ending with a tragedy?"

"Romeo and Juliet," I responded.

He nodded, his eyes flickering between Jaxon and I. "Next time, pay attention to class and not to daydreaming about you and Mr. Falls getting married."

My jaw dropped.

Yep. Mr. Franklin official dropped down to my hate list.

I heard Jaxon chuckle from beside me and I put my head down, covering my burning face. This was so embarrassing...

"Are you seriously ignoring me, Kitten?" I tried walking faster but, Jaxon still kept up with me. Ever since class ended, he's been messing me about what Mr. Franklin said.

I spotted the fangirls all huddled in a group and smirked. A plan quickly conceived in my head. I stopped walking and took a couple steps back from Jaxon.

"What are you doing-"

I cut him off before gasping dramatically. "Oh my God! Jaxon Falls is about to take his shirt off!"

As if I yelled fire, the fangirls started sprinting towards Jaxon. Jaxon scowled at me, taking off running for his life. I laughed evilly, watching him get the torture he deserved before heading to my locker.

Audrey was waiting there for me along with Caleb.

"Hey, Kimora. Where's your owner?"

I rolled my eyes at her joke. "He doesn't own me."

"You are his pet, remember?" Caleb shot back.

I glared at the both of them. "You two are so close to being on my bad side." They both laughed and I shook my head. "Anyway, Jaxon running from his group of fangirls. Thanks to me." Caleb and her exchanged a confused look. I waved my hand dismissively. "Don't worry. I'm sure he'll flirt his way out of it."

Caleb scratched his neck nervously and Audrey smirked. What was their problem? I felt someone standing behind me.

I sighed. "He's behind me, isn't he?"

"I sure am." I faced Jaxon, realizing how close he was. "And that's nine kisses from you now."

I scoffed. "Stop counting! How did you even escape?!"

His lips pulled into a lopsided grin. "I got cornered, showed them my beautiful abs and they fainted surprisingly. It wasn't that hard."

I clenched the books in my hands. "If it wasn't for you and your stupid abs, I would've gotten away with it." They all laughed at me. Why did the fangirls consider him so attractive?

"Hey everyone!" We all faced Maddy who was smiling widely.

I sighed. "What do you want, Maddy?"

"I just wanted you all to know that I'm throwing a costume party this weekend and all of you are invited." She looked up at Jaxon, batting her eyelashes. "Especially you, Jaxon."

"I'll be there." He nodded, giving her a smile. She blew a kiss at him, glaring at me and sauntered off in her heels. That was weird. I know Maddy throws parties every once and a while though. However, she never personally invited people. Most times it would spread around the school and people just went.

Audrey leaned closer to my ear as we watched Maddy. "You think she's up to something?"

I nodded. "Definitely."
