Kind of how I picture Drew and Harley's houses ^

Harley

After finishing the movie Drew dropped Ally and I off at our homes.

Now I sit here with my homework. Yay.

Since my parents always work late I have leftover supper heated up. Taking a forkful of food I try figuring out the math problems. Our calculators are advanced enough, why can't we just use those?

Chewing on my lasagna I finally figure out the answer to one of the questions.

About an hour or so later I'm finished homework and supper. Rinsing my dishes and putting them in the dishwasher I dry my hands.

As I'm about to go up the stairs the front door opens.

"Hey Harley!"

"Hi dad," I greet him with a tight hug, I definitely got my hugging from him.

"You already had supper?"

"Yep, leftover lasagna."

"Sorry I wasn't back soon enough, I'll try next time." He says this every time which I've come to learn he almost never can come back earlier. My dad is never as late as my mom though, she comes home around nine thirty.

"It's fine dad, I know you're busy."

"Thanks for being so understanding, where did I find a daughter like you?" He gives me another quick squeeze then picks of his briefcase bringing it to his office. We have a bit closer of a relationship but still not like some daughters and fathers.

I make my way back up the stairs to my bedroom. It's only about eight o'clock and I'm exhausted.

Mindlessly scrolling through Instagram I pass the time until my eyes start to droop.

For once I am awoken by the sun and not my mother. Glancing over at the clock it's only six-thirty.

Perfect, don't have to get up for another half hour. Maybe I should go to bed at eight more often, nah that won't last.

Taking my phone off of my bedside table I turn it finding a few notifications.

One from Drew, three from Ally.

Opening Ally's first I laugh.

Ally: I FINALLY HAVE THE CAR

Ally: FRIGGIN BROTHER FINALLY GOT A RIDE FROM SOMEONE

Ally: See you soon!

My fingers hover over the keys thinking about what I should type.

Harley: okay I'll be waiting for your Corolla to pull up!

Now opening Drew's chat I get the same message with less capitals.

Drew: Hey not sure if Ally has texted you or not but we're not picking her up, See you later

I quickly type up a response to him then get out of bed to shower. I'll finally be able to do everything at an enjoyable speed.

Stripping out of my clothes I step under the stream of soothing hot water. I sigh as the water runs down my back relaxing the muscles.

Slowly working in some shampoo and conditioner in my blonde hair I then rinse it out watching the soap run down me. After a quick body wash I turn off the water and step into the steamy air. Drying my body I use a separate towel for my hair and wrap it up.

Opening a drawer I find the toothpaste and put some on my brush. After I'm done brushing my teeth I get dressed and get my hair brush out.

When I'm finally through all the knots and tangles I head downstairs. Pouring myself my usual Cheerios and milk I grab a spoon. Since I'm actually awake early I'm up before both my parents letting me sit in silence while I munch on my cereal.

This is where I would love to have a dog to keep me company.

After about ten minutes my dad comes down adjusting his tie, or attempting as it's still crooked. Close behind him is my mother who is sharply dressed with not a speck of lint or dirt anywhere.

"Duke dear your tie isn't straight," my mom places her papers and bag on the counter before reaching over to my father straightening it to her liking. My dad looks at me and slightly shrugs saying that he had tried.

"It didn't look that crooked to me," my mother shoots him an unimpressed look.

"Harley please tell your father it was very unaligned." Many times my parents would have playful banter and try to get me to settle it. I've always seen their relationship and wanted someone that would treat me like that, someone you could have fun with and love. I've always been a romantic I guess.

"Well Dad," he mutters under his breath knowing he lost this argument. "It was a little crooked."

"I'll win next time, Myra." He kisses her on the forehead then goes to make his coffee.

Soon enough I hear a car honk and I head out the door yelling a goodbye to my parents.

Bouncing down the steps I quickly jog to the car. Throwing my backpack haphazardly into the backseats I click in the seatbelt.

"Hey how's your morning?" Drew greets with his usual warm smile.

"Good, my mom's OCD didn't like my dad's not-so-perfect tie though." My lips turn upward a bit at the memory, my father's defeated face and my mother's victorious one. She usually wins.

"Of course, your mom's OCD doesn't like a lot of things." Putting on the signal indicator we turn left off of my street.

"Very true," I nod my head. "You remember that time we had a mud fight and were covered head to toe?

"Yep, how could I forget, we were like eight or something?" Since Drew and I have known each other since birth we have had many crazy adventures and memories.

"I think so, our parent's faces were priceless though!"

He lets out a laugh that shows his nice set of white teeth, that how you know it's genuine. "Your mom was so pissed whereas mine wouldn't stop laughing." I join him laughing remembering the moment.

"Oh yeah and I won that by the way."

"Come on we both know it was me." Pulling into the parking lot the school is surprisingly busy so we have to find an empty space.

"No I remember clearly that it was me."

"It must not be very clear then, you're the one who slipped first and got soaked."

"But I pulled you down too so we both fell at the same time." We both have a stare down as he's already parked the car. Our faces are about a foot apart not relenting to the other. I narrow my eyes slightly more challenging him.

"Okay fine!" He leans back in his chair blinking. "You won."

"Yes! I told you!" I wrap him into a bear hug like I usually do when I win a competition between us.

"Yeah yeah," he kisses my foredhead. "Let's go before Ally comes running around looking for us."

Forehead kisses are normal for us, many times people thought we were a couple, but he also kisses Ally on the forehead. He's like a brother to me though, so it's not like it's going to lead to anything, right?
