Harley's outfit to the party ^

Also, brace yourself it's a really long chapter. At least it was for me to write XD

Harley

After we finished eating at Crazy Lady's Diner we bid goodbye to Susan and returned home. My father had some paperwork to get down so he closed himself in his office. When I was done my homework I hit the hay rather exhausted.

And now I'm lying in bed, not so exhausted, staring up at my white ceiling.

Why is it that the minute I'm in my nice fluffy and comfortable blankets I'm wide awake? The human body needs a shutdown button to turn off our active minds.

I for one, don't like randomly reminiscing on that embarrassing time I peed my pants in kindergarten. Or the first time I got my period and bled through at school. Then there's always that time I accidentally tripped into a boy in my class, then proceeded to faceplant into his crotch.

Why Brain, why?

Why must you torture me, reminding me of all the stupid and humiliating things I've done?

Eventually my brain shuts off enough and without realizing I doze into dreamland.

The lovely sound of my alarm clock awakens me, no early rising for me today.

Cracking one eye open I glance over at the clock. Still a little bit of time, though if I stay in my cozy cocoon much longer I will be late.

Groaning I slide out of my queen size bed pushing the duvet off. Shuffling my way into the bathroom I stifle a yawn. Turning on the shower I wait for it to warm then strip out of my pajamas. After doing my usual wash routine I wrap a towel around my hair and body, searching  for an outfit to wear. Finding a nice casual light blue blouse, I pair it with some dark wash jeans.

Going back to the bathroom I let my blonde hair fall out, running a brush through it untangling the unruly knots. Once I'm finished I swiftly walk down the stairs, Cheerios here I come.

Plopping down at my spot by the counter I munch on my bowl of honey nut Cheerios.

My mom walks in and clicks her tongue disapprovingly. "Harley-"

"It's the shirt isn't it?" I cut her off.

She sends me another look since I cut her off. "No, you've got to eat something else than Cheerios every day, that's not healthy for you. You need nutrients not carbs!"

My dad who had been quietly making his coffee looks up. "Let the girl be Myra, she's still skinny as a stick," he looks up at me fake pleadingly. "And Harley, please don't turn into those girls your age that only eat salad, and worry about your weight constantly."

Whacking my dad, somewhat gently, on the shoulder my mom now shoots my father a look. "I'm not saying she needs to become obsessed, just more aware of healthier alternatives. What about an omelette? Or even a smoothie?"

After fixing her purse on her shoulder with a folder tucked under the other arm, she straightens up. Quickly sharing a kiss with my dad she kisses me on the forehead saying bye.

Clearing his throat my dad replies to the now dead conversation. "I, for one, dislike smoothies a lot."

When I'm about to reply Drew honks the car.

Squeezing my dad I run to the door with my backpack in hand. "Bye, we're still good for me to go tonight, right?"

"Still good, have a good time Harley." My dad smiles.
