I gotta love how Drew's chapters nicely intercept when things get juicy.

I actually got a chapter together before Christmas!

Thank you to the few people who read this story :)

Really mom?

Feeling content with what I have packed I zip up my black backpack and give my room one last look.

My mom and Harley's mom are having a girls weekend, while Harley and I go camping with our dads.

"Drew we're leaving soon!" My dad hollers up the stairs. He has everything packed already. My mom calls him a severe "go-getter" type of person.

Making my way downstairs I drag my bag with me. Before I can dump it in the car my mom stops me.

"Are you sure you have everything packed?"

"Yes, mom." I sigh.

"Let your mother worry about you while she still can." My dad ruffles my hair, which I just brushed.

I scrunch my nose up when they kiss and bee-line it to the awaiting car.

I'm buckled in and ready once my dad enters the car. With one last wave from my mother we travel the short distance to Harley's house. Myra is picking my mom up and we're picking up Harley and Duke.

Unlike me Harley walks gracefully to the car when we arrive. Though she isn't grossed out by people kissing, she says it's romantic. Blah

The only time romance is not gross, is if it includes Harley. I would kiss her.

"Hey Drew," she greets with a small smile. Her hair is up in a ponytail which makes her blue eyes more prominent.

"Hi," I grin back.

For the hour and a half drive that it took to get to the camping spot Harley and I never stopped chatting. We occasionally played some games on our iPods but mostly talked about what we were going to do. First on the list was to go swimming in the lake.

"Alright guys, we are officially here." My dad announces.

The car rolls to a stop in a little clearing. Tall looming trees surround the open area, sheltering out the hot sun. As the leaves dance in the wind and the birds sing it makes you want to take a nap.

"Look!" I quickly snap out of studying the campsite. "The water goes on forever."

I follow where she's looking and can't help but agree. The dark blue water seems endless as it disappears into the horizon.

"Okay kids we can site see later, we have to set up before it gets dark."

We all pitch in to help, only having the two tents left to put together after about twenty minutes.

"Wanna do a competition of who can set of their tent first?" My dad asks us.

"That's not very fair," Harley points out.

"What? Are you afraid of some competition?" Her father lightly teases.

Of course this activates her defiance. Standing up a little straighter she stares him dead in the eye. "No."
