Andrew

Harley and I have been best friends forever, literally since birth. We've told each other all of our secrets, except there's one I've never had the guts to tell her.

We are polar opposites yet twins at the same time. Her blue eyes shine brightly compared to my not-so-bright hazel ones. But our love for motorcycles definitely is a common trait, she is named after the Harley Davidson motorbike.

Both of our fathers are hobby motorbikers, probably the reason they're still friends now and throughout their high school and college years.

Practically all my memories from when I was younger had Harley in it, it was rare to see us apart. If you ever saw one of us you knew the other was near.

Most boys my age would always wonder why I hung out with a girl, then in first grade when we met Ally they thought I was even weirder. Ally fit our quirky group perfectly, balancing Harley's tomboy tendencies with her all pink girly outfits.

Even with Ally always wearing the flashy outfits I always thought Harley stood out. There is something alluring about her. Though Harley loved playing in the mud and hated wearing dresses I could never forget the first time I saw her in one.

FLASH BACK*

Andrew

(5 years old)

Today me and Harley are turning five. I think it's the coolest thing to have the same birthday as my best friend.

All of our classmates are going to come to my house for our party. My mom said people will start arriving at one o'clock.

Since it's lunch time right now I'm eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Both my parents are busy doing something so it's very quiet, and rather lonely. Apparently Harley is getting ready for the party so she can't keep me company. I really wish we had a dog, everybody at school has one and say they're so much fun.

Putting my plate in the dishwasher I knew my mom would get mad if the house was untidy.

Right when I was walking out of the kitchen my mother walks in. "Andrew darling your face is all messy, you have to be clean when guests come."  I can never win.

I sigh and go to the bathroom to get a face cloth. Standing on the step stool I look in the mirror and realize I have a bit of peanut butter on my chin. Quickly scrubbing down my face I hurry downstairs when I hear the door opening.

I wonder who got here first?

When I get to the door I almost didn't recognize her.

Harley was in a dress. Like, a real dress.

It made her look very pretty, she looked as if she was glowing.

The dress is light blue with tank top like sleeves, poofing a little on her waist down. There were little flowers of other light colours right on the end of the dress.

"Hey Drew!" I think my mouth was open a little when she smiled so brightly at me.

"H-hey Harley." Why can't I make words properly?

"Do you like my dress?" She twirls a little letting her blonde hair float around her.

"Yeah it looks very pretty," I blush slightly looking down.

"Aw thanks Drew!" She clumsily, but happily, hugs me. She loves hugging people, good thing I love her hugs. "You look handsome too."

"Thanks." I was just in blue plaid with jeans, nothing special compared to her.

"Harley, look at you!" My mom finishes talking with Harley's mom and bends down to hug her. "You look like a princess!"

"Thank you, Beth." Her cheeks turn a light shade of pink but she still has a big smile.

"Same with you Andrew," now Harley's mom Myra gives me a hug. "You look like a handsome prince!" I say thank you too.

"Okay, you two can go play in the basement now, the other kids should be coming." Running down the stairs Harley and I dig out my LEGO. I have a bunch of buckets full so we can always build almost anything we want.

"Happy birthday dear Harley and Andrew, happy birthday to you!" Everybody starts clapping while Harley and I excitedly blow out our candles. We have one big cake that Is blue, our favourite colour.

"What did you wish for?" Daniel one of our classmates asked.

"It's a secret, if I tell you the wish won't come true!" Harley smiles apologetically, I knew she would tell me later what she wished for.

"What about you Andrew, will you tell me?"

"Sorry, I want my wish to come true so I can't tell you." A few people booed wanting to know what we wished for.

I wished to know Harley forever, and to have her as my best friend forever. Harley is the bestest friend anyone could have. And she's the most beautifullest person.

When everyone except Harley had left then we went to my room to play, bringing some of the presents we got with us.

"So Harley what did you wish for?"

This dreamy look took over her face, "to have the best boyfriend in the world!"

I almost tripped on the last step when she said that. I didn't want her to have a boyfriend though.

"But you're too young to have a boyfriend!"

"Everyone at school has one though!" She pouts a little that I'm not agreeing with her. "Ashley has one, and Becky has one, oh and Lana has a second one! I've never ever had a boyfriend before." She looks rather sad now, I don't like when she's sad, it makes me sad.

"We are only five, people don't get married until they're like twenty! Besides who would be your boyfriend?"

"I think Michael looks kinda handsome." She giggles a bit. Ugh Michael, I don't like him at all in fact, I hate him. He's such a show off and is never nice to anyone.

"But Michael is mean."

"No not to everyone, just to some people."

"He doesn't like anybody." He's always difficult with the teachers, sometimes they think we don't see it but they are always sighing. Not the good sighing, but the really tired one.

"Well I like him so it doesn't matter!"

"Harley? It's time to go honey." Myra comes into my room with my mom behind her.

"Already?"

"Yes, it's already past your bedtime."

She walks up to me and quickly hugs be, "bye Drew see you later."

"Bye." She slowly walks to her mom.

"Same goes for you young man, time for a bath then bed."

"Aw do I have to have a bath?" I groan.

* PRESENT *

That Michael was quite a dick. Luckily he moved away.

Even now that rare time when Harley wears a dress it amazes me, always the brightest and happiest person in the room.

So I'm guessing you probably know my secret now?

I used to think I just liked her. But over time I realized it, I could never live without her in my life. She always consumed my thoughts, even at a young age.

I am without a doubt,  in love with my best friend, Harley Macey Davidson.
