Using this picture instead because I couldn't find a nice child one. Not that this is terrible. Do you guys like the flash backs in Drew's point of view? This chapter is for once a decent size.

Andrew

If she grins at that stupid phone one more time I swear-

Her angelic laugh cuts off my thoughts, normally I love the sound but I'm irked of what's causing it.

Not able to keep it myself anymore I approach her small figure that's sitting on the ground.

"Who are you texting?"

I barely contain the groan that wants to surface when I hear his name.

Eventually Cody will show his true colours right?

When she claims that he's nice I leave her alone before I get too worked up. Not a good idea especially with our fathers around. Though I do appreciate the effort my dad puts into spending time with me, even as I get older. Many kids or teenagers get emabarassed when their parents want to do family events, but I think it's important to still create time for them. When, or if, I have children I would make sure to always make time for them, whatever their ages.

Some of my fondest memories are father's outings, of course I couldn't go anywhere without Harley. For a while we had a monthly fishing trip, as we got older it changed to monthly tune ups on our bikes.

(7 years old)

"Come on Drew! We're going to be late let's go!" My dad hollers from downstairs.

"In a minute!" I yell back. I study my hair a little more in the mirror, my friend says his older brother uses gel in his hair and apparently girls like it. According to him it makes you look 'hot'.

Deciding it's good enough I hop off the stool and leave the bathroom. I quickly sling the beige backpack I had previously packed over my shoulder hurrying towards my father.

When I approach my father he eyes me suspiciously.

"Drew what's in your hair?"

"Uh," I don't feel as confident in this hair stuff as I had before. I knew I shouldn't have listened to Liam. "Gel."

Sighing he looks at my mom before looking at me again. "Why is my seven year old son wearing hair gel already?"

"Or at all," my mom scoffs quietly. She always says that lots of girls are going to have crushes on me, and that she 'doesn't want her little boy growing up so soon'; but I am not little.

"Because Liam said it makes you look hot." I shrug awkwardly really doubting my supposed friend.

"How'd you get your sneaky little hands on some anyway?"

"I took some from your drawer." I mumble quietly knowing he won't appreciate it.

Surprisingly he only sighs deeply before responding. "Alright, let's go! We've kept the Davidson's waiting long enough."

Remembering the fun day planned I run out the door barely having time to put my running shoes on. Once he's placed the rods and tackle box in the trunk my dad starts driving to Harley's house.

When we pull up to their house they're waiting on their front porch. Harley's wearing black adidas shorts and a blue under armour shirt, she says her mother wants her to wear name brands. Whatever that means.

I press the button on the door to roll down the window. "Hi Harley!"

Smiling she bounces up to my window. "Hi Dr-"
