Hey how ya'll doing?

Harley
"I'm toootally not a light-" she hiccups. "Weight."
I laugh. "Sure, also totally doesn't have that many o's in it."
"I'm perfect-" hiccup. "-ly sober."
"I believe you hun." I've had one drink by now, so nowhere near as close to dreamland as Ally.
"I want shots." Before I can protest Ally disappears into the crowd, presumably trying to head to the kitchen.
Sighing, I know I can't leave my drunk best friend alone. Stupid subconscious.
"Woah what happened to her?" Cody sidles beside me and joins my speed walking.
"Alcohol." I chuckle.
"I left you guys for what, ten minutes tops?" He pretends to take on a parental tone, but I can see the smile underneath.
Spotting Ally I quickly hop onto the seat next her. "What can I say? Ally loves alcohol and alcohol loves her."
Somehow finally noticing my presence Ally gets excited. "Harpley we should totally have some shots!"
"It's Harley," I emphasis, similar to how one would with a three year old. "And you mentioned that before, I thought you would've gotten them already."
"No no, like me and Hartley should have some together!" Remind me to say no to her party requests next time.
Cody leans over my shoulder and whispers, "how does she manage to forget her best friend's name?"
"No clue," I shrug watching the said adult-child petting the wooden counter top lovingly. "She's a weird drunk."
All of a sudden she sloshes a shot towards me almost spilling its contents over me. "Drink!"
I'm going to need it if I have to deal with her anyway. "Fine." I tip the glass back letting it burn my throat on its way down.
Ally magically produces more and slides a few to 'my friend'. Containing his laughter Cody plays along too, slamming the glass back on the table once he's finished the last drop.
About five or so shots later I can feel myself loosening up. Things are getting slightly fuzzy but that just enhances the fun.
The three of us, especially Ally, aren't fairing the best. Cody is like me, he knows what he's doing but could fall over any second. Ally has just gone even more downhill, if that's possible.
"Haley?" She slurs.
"What?" I don't bother correcting her.
"What's my cat's name?"
"Ally," I pause fighting the grin that's breaking out. "You don't have a cat."
"Oh." A wave of sadness washes over her. "What about a dog?"
Not knowing Cody whispers to me again. "Does she even have any pets?"
I grin. "Nope!"
Miraculously over the loud music Cody's phone is heard blaring away.
Apologetically smiling at me he answers. "Hello?" He pauses then sighs. "Really? Again? Yeah, okay I'll be there."
"Everything alright?" I can feel my brain trying to sober up.
"Laney isn't listening to the babysitter, won't go to bed. I have to go back home." I catch his arm before he can leave.
"Please get an Uber or call a taxi."
