So I live near an extremely diverse city, and I found out today that The City is hosting their annual Pride Parade in June 9th and I've been doing a lot of research about it.
So leading up to Pride Weekend, there's a lot of seminars and parties. All year, the City raises money for Pride Weekend as well as giving educational awareness in the community, anti-bullying, suicide prevention, and anti-discrimination efforts in school systems.
I just personally find it inspiring how much of an effort is being made to have everyone treated as equals, because everybody is human, no matter their orientation or gender identity.
Here's another example of my parents being annoying about it: I just found out about this parade earlier today, and in my research about it, I found the first parade was way back in 1980, and has been annual ever since. I saw on the news earlier a brief bit of a story about the City setting up for the parade, before my dad turned off the TV after he saw me paying attention to it.
Now that I think of it, my dream from last night might have been about Pride Weekend. I honestly wouldn't doubt it since George Salazar was being a drag queen.......... OH MY FUCKING GOD I DREAMED ABOUT THE PRIDE PARADE!!!!!!! I CAN TELL THE FUTURE!!!!!!
After I did a little bit of research, I texted E J K and A about it on our group chat so now we're all on a mission, doing our own research.
I honestly really hope I can convince my parents to take me to the parade, even though I doubt they will, seeing as my dad didn't even want me knowing about it. Oh well. People will most likely video it so I'll watch those.
Anyway that's it.
Cya!
