I'm sure you've all heard of the card game: Uno, but if you haven't, it's basically a cut throat card game that ruins friendships.
So I just finished playing an extremely intense game of Uno with my parents. We added some rules to spice it up a bit:
7: if someone played a 7 card, the next person had to swap hands with another player even if they didn't want to.
0: if someone played a 0 card, everyone would pass their hands to the person on their right/left depending on the current direction of the game.
+2/4: if someone played a +2 on you, if you had another +2, instead of drawing two, you could make the next person draw four, or they could make the next person draw six and so on. The same rule for +4: you could add another +4 and so on.These rules made the games last super long and caused a hell of a lot of yelling, laughing, high-fiving, and me flopping on the floor in despair. Mostly yelling in anger. It was fun. Very cut-throat tho. I won the first game, and my mom won the second game. Since my dad lost he had to do the dishes as a forfeit.
I really love these spontaneous moments where we can actually be playful and joke around with each other without a follow-up lecture about morality and using kind words from my dad. Every time I make a sarcastic or playfully mean joke, my dad gives me full on lectures about how I shouldn't make jokes like that with my family. "We're not your friends" is what they often say. Gee thanks dad.
Wow this turned into a dad rant. That's not abnormal tho. Anyway, tonight was fun. I'm glad I got a chance to just laugh and joke with them for once.
Cya!
