BROADWAY BITCHES

So this week I'm in doing a broadway camp with Kaylen and hermione030105 Today was our second day of rehearsal and it's been really fun. It's basically a showcase of a bunch of classic Broadway songs.

So yesterday we auditioned (I sang Seventeen from Heathers) and we got our group songs that everyone's in:

Opening Number:
All Over The World from Xanadu

Opening of Act II:
King of New York from Newsies (my personal favorite)

(WITHOUT the tap dancing)

Closing Number:
You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray

Today we got our solos/duets(some people are singing together)

Mine:
There Are Worse Things I Could Do from Grease

Kaylen's:
Freddy My Love from Grease

J's:
Always True to You from Kiss Me Kate

So yeah King of New York is easily my favorite number in the 20-song show. The choreography is just so Newsies but without the tap. There's one point where J has to crouch down and look up and behind her at Kaylen who's singing at that point, and she got so excited bc she felt like a newsie.

Also I have the solo lines of "SO LETS GET DRUNK! Not with liquor. Fame works quicker" and in the middle of that, everyone cheers bc alcohol (max age is a hs senior... min is 8) and I swear I have never seen little children so excited and loud about anything in my life except me yelling at them to drink........ it was kinda terrifying.

The whole show overall is just hecking amazing and I'm really excited to have everything put together and ready to perform in 3 days. Yup, 3 (three) DAYS.
