Voice lessons (i can sing)

I was gonna write something. Literally today there were so many moments when I was like "I should write about this today!" And then the moment I click on the + to add a part, everything I was gonna write about is like "Bai! Lol you're on ur own!"

OOO!!! I remember something!!
Ok so I had my first voice lesson in weeks (my teacher was on a trip to visit her husband who's temporarily working in a different state for a park ranger thing) and I was actually really surprised. Since it's been weeks since I had a lesson and sang professionally, not just using random showtunes to annoy people, I thought my voice would've been pretty ratchet, but it was actually probably the best it's ever sounded (aside from that one time I sounded like a thirty-year-old prof singer WHOOP!)

So we've been working on the following songs:

"With You" from Ghost the Musical

"Monster" from Frozen the Musical

"Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri

We were working on about ten other songs this past year, but I've "mastered" all those so we're working on these rn. Today we added two new songs to our list:

"Seventeen" from Heathers the Musical

"The Wizard and I" from Wicked

So I'm singing Veronica's part and my teacher is singing JD's part and after singing it once all the way through together, I couldn't even hold the ending note cuz I was smiling too much at how pretty it sounded. I'll admit I almost cried....

So yeah I'd say today's lesson went pretty great. I don't think we'll be working on Seventeen for very long, since we both know it like the backs of our hands, but it does need a little work.

Sooo... in other news: we finally learned our last dance for Aladdin today, and we open tomorrow, so everybody's a lil bit stressed. Also... there's an unintentional lesbian ship: The evil magician x Princess. So our director changed the character of the evil magician to a female character, and there's a scene that goes like this:

Magician's Apprentice: no offense, boss, but I don't really think the Princess likes you.
Magician: Nonsense! She's just getting used to me! BESIDES... (taking out lamp for a moment from the folds of her robe) ... I can use THIS to make her love me if I so choose, eh? ...Eh?

So yeah they have half a dance where it's just the two of them onstage and it's actually really cool and really gay. THE RAINBOW RISES!!!! (E will get that)

So yeah wish me luck! KK's coming to see the show tomorrow so I'm excited to see her.
