SPOILER WARNING FOR TRIALS OF APOLLO: THE BURNING MAZE!!!! If you have not read it yet and you plan to, skip skip skipity skip skip. When you see a line of ~~~ that'll be the end of the spoilers.

Ok so for those of you who have already read Burning Maze you know how much pain that book caused us. I mean, the other deaths in PJO and HOO, I can deal with being mentioned and not fully break down, because we weren't really close to them. I still get emotional whenever I see "Bob says hello" but I don't cry like I do now at the mention of Him. I don't think there is a need to name Him, because everyone just kinda knows.

I try to always prepare myself for character death, but this one completely took me by surprise, because when He said either Him or Piper was supposed to die, I was like "Rick's gonna find a way around that. He may be a troll, but he couldn't do that to someone everyone is so attached to; someone we've actually had stories told from His POV."

Well, let's just say, I didn't accept it at first, not until the scene with Piper crying on the beach.

Then it hit me "He's really gone. He's not coming back, and we're never gonna see him again..." I actually cried for about fifteen minutes. Some of you might be thinking "Isa, you're overreacting. It's not that bad." Rightfully so. It's kind of embarrassing that it got to me that bad, but He was really close to me, and a lot of other people: other characters as well as fans. Every so often, I'll just be la-Di-da-ing, minding my own business, when it hits me. I feel a pang in my gut, and it takes a few minutes of collecting myself to go back to what I'm doing.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is: I decided to use my skills to do something to cope. So I did a small tribute drawing. Here's to our fallen hero, Jason Grace.
