Fay watched as Jim pulled his amulet out as a precaution.
" A human Trollhunter? How interesting, how unique." The deep voice stated as the whole group turned around to come face to face with Gatto
"To what do I owe this pleasure?" Gatto questioned
" We've -- sorry, we've come for." Jim tried to say but was cut off by Gatto eating a troll
Fay turned away in fear. Maybe she should of stayed back at home, with Draal.
" Agh!Did he just eat a troll?" Toby asked
" You must excuse me." Gatto apologized, " I never talk business without something to eat. Go on."
" We need -- we need the Birthstone." Jim stated bravely as Gatto laughed
" The Birthstone of Gunmar." Gatto laughed, " Very powerful. Why should I give it to you?"
" Because we are going to destroy him." Jim answered his question
" Why do I care?" Gatto laughed, "Why should I give it to you?" Gatto breathed on them
Fay coughed as the smoke swarmed the group.
" He's negotiating, Master Jiim." Blinky stated out the obvious
" What do you want for it?" Jim followed Blinky's advice
" Ooh. An answer to a little riddle." Gatto answered Jim
" That's all? Whew. I thought Claire was a goner." Toby complained as Claire got ready to hit him
" At least it's better than sacrificing someone's life for the stone." Fay murrmed into Blinky's ear
" Answer it correctly, the Birthstone is yours." Gatto laughs, " answer it incorrectly, I eat you all."
" Eat? Did he say "eat?" Claire asked
" Yes, Humans," Gatto licks his lips, " I hear they have a gamey taste. That and a spice of fairy."
" He said "eat!" Toby moans and falls down
" Master Jim, we must not enter Into this binding agreement." Blinky warned, " I'm beginning to catch on why so few trolls ever leave this domicile."
Fay watched closely as Jim thought. She was hoping he would say no but fate chose the other way.
" We'll play." Jim stated as Blinky's eyes suddenly became wider than ever while Toby gasps in the background
" We need it to save Claire's brother and, besides, she's good at riddles." Jim explained as he helped Toby off the ground
" Not bet our lives on it." Claire shot at Jim
" You're a straight A-student!" Jim tried to comfort her
" When do we go to " riddles class?" Claire argued
" Ahh, I'm savvy with words." Blinky stepped between the argument, " Gatto, do your worst, riddle away."
" What begins and has no end, and ends all that which begin?" Gatto gave his riddle
