Lost

Fay stood there in the tall grass as she watched the pixies flee from their destruction. Each of them laughed in her face as they flew by. Fay ran after, not realizing that the were leading her off a cliff. Slowly Fay morphed into a centaur and galloped faster than she did in the arena. Suddenly Krystabi formed from the grass right in front of her. He held a spear to her throat as he glared at her.

" You will be mine." She could hear someone's voice whisper into her ear.

" Never!" Fay yelled as she grabbed his spear and broke in half.

Stunned by her actions Krystabi fell into shock and froze upon her actions. Fay quickly had enough time to shove him off the cliff. She watched as his body was pierced by sharp rocks. Immediately the pixies swarmed his body and left nothing to salvage. Fay watched her own facial expressions turn into a smile as she looked over where Krystabi died. Fay watched herself take the blade of the spear and cut her own hair off. She then held it into the air as it became a bursting flame as she began to laugh uncontrollably. She could hear swords clashing in the background as the laughter became louder...

Fay abruptly woke up to trees turning into stone as Master Jim chased a gray troll. Fay stood up to see Aaarrrgghh accompany Master Jim. The Wumpas scattered in panic as trees were turned to stone. Fay got up to help a Wumpa that was stuck underneath a fallen tree. Fay lifted up the trunk, barely enough for the Wumpa to crawl out. As soon as the Wumpa was out, Fay dropped the trunk and dodged a falling stone tree.

" Hey every one! I've got the stone!" Fay heard Toby yelled as a portal popped out behind him.

Angor Rot came through the portal and smacked Toby to the ground and caught the birthstone. Everyone made a mad dash for Angor Rot as Fay hopped over a fallen tree.

" Don't let him get away!" Jim yelled as a Wumpa tried to tackle him

Fay grabbed a big stick and threw it at him, hoping that it would sow him down. But sadly, he caught it and stared back at her. Mouthing the words, " You will be mine fairy," he left through his portal of black and purple.

" That's our stone! We need that to save my brother." Claire said as she ran into the portal by herself

" Claire!" Jim called after her as the portal closed with a swoosh.

Fay stopped where she was for a second before Claire popped back into the world with a portal above her. She laid there on the ground, holding the Shadowstaff. But no birthstone to be found.

" Claire, are you okay?" Jim asked as he kneeled by her side.

" I...I lost the Killstone!" Claire panicked as she began to look around her for the stone.

" But we have you. We'll get back." Jim reassured her as Fay walked over to the group.

" Indeed, the victory here was survival." Blinky announced, " Shadowstaff! Very dangerous! Let me take that from you."

" No way, I'm keeping this" Claire stated as she kept the staff close to her.

As everyone got ready to leave, the previous Wumpa that gave Fay a drink from before, hugged her.

"Fairy come back to grant wishes?" The Wumpa asked as they placed a small stone in Fay's hands

Blinky stopped as he heard the conversation and waited for Fay. The Wumpa gave Fay one last hug as Fay gave them a smile. The Wumpa cheered as they returned to the others. They shared the news with the others and began cheering in excitement. Blinky walked next to Fay as they made their way back to the Gyre.

" Can you really grant wishes?" Blinky quietly asked her as Fay looked his way.

" I didn't know I could." Fay answered him as she became silent again.

" After everything that has happened between you summoning light and shifting into different forms, you can't grant wishes?" Blinky questioned her further.

Fay was silent as he asked her. She was thinking to herself about why she couldn't grant wishes. Maybe it had something to do with past, or she just hasn't learned how to preform them.

" Fay?" Blinky stopped her from walking away from him.

" I don't know! I've just been reborn and I don't know why I don't have my powers. Okay? I don't know..." Fay snapped at him as Blinky took a few steps back, " I'm sorry, I'm just confused as you are. I asked myself the same question but I have no answer to give you."

Fay moved past him in a slower stride. Everyone glanced back at the two as they got on the gyre. Fay avoided everyone's eye contact and sat on the metal seat. She could feel Blinky staring at her so she just looked towards the wall of the cave. Aaarrrgghh sat between her and the humans as Blinky drove the Gyre back to Trollmarket.

It was only a few seconds before they arrived and departed from the gyre. As always Aaarrrgghh complained about how he hated the Gyre to Blinky. Fay took this chance to run as far from them as possible. She ran into the home of Blinky and Aaarrrgghh's and grabbed her stuff but as she turned to leave she was confronted by Blinky himself. They stared at each other for a moment before Blinky noticed her things.

" I just want to apologize for my actions, from earlier. I shouldn't have asked you those questions and pressured you to answer." Blinky apologized as he looked a Fay

" I accept your apology. I get it, you're just as curious as I am to why such strange occurrences keep happening." Fay said and smiled as she slipped by him, " Don't worry, I'll come back. I just need some place to recollect myself."

She could see his him smile but then falter as she walked further away. Fay turned back around and pulled out her horngazel. After she drew it she looked back at Trollmarket once again before stepping into the human world once again.
