Chapter Nine: Lotte World [Part 3]

Wonho and I spent the whole ride getting to know each other. I could still feel my heart beating rapidly throughout the whole ride. As the two of us exited the ride, we saw the boys waiting for us.

Jooheon stayed true to his word and bought Minhyuk ice cream.

"I hope you two had fun." Minhyuk scoffed, still somehow being upset while simultaneously eating ice cream.

"We did." Wonho said, putting his arm around my shoulder again, probably to make Minhyuk even more jealous.

"Not fair! You got to go on the boat ride with her!" Minhyuk said, coming over to push Wonho's arm away so he could but his arm around my shoulder instead.

"You guys are so childish." Kihyun chuckled, pushing Wonho and Minhyuk along so we could go to the next ride.

Sunset

The boys and I spent the whole day going on various rides and having a good time. As the sun was starting to set, the only ride we hadn't gone on was the roller coaster. But I was not interested in going on it at all. 

"Oh, come one! You should come too!" Minhyuk said, holding onto my hand and trying to convince me to get on the roller coaster.

"I can't." I said. "I'll cry, you don't want to see that." I laughed. They had already seen me cry once and that was already awkward enough. I had always cried on roller coasters when I was a kid. I didn't want to cry in front of them again.

"Fine." Minhyuk pouted, "Come on guys, let's go!"

All of the boys that wanted to go on the roller coaster followed Minhyuk.

It seemed like it would only be Wonho and I left behind, which I didn't mind. I enjoyed my alone time with him. Plus I liked to see the jealous reactions of girls who mistook us for boyfriend and girlfriend. It gave me a total confidence boost.

"Ah, it's nice that I don't have to wait alone." Wonho laughed, tousling his hair a bit.

"What should we do?" I asked, trying not to stare at his perfect face. I thought of some of the shows and rides that we could go on. The wait time was supposed to be long for the roller coaster, so we had quite a bit of time to kill.

"We could-" I started to say.

But I was interrupted when someone swooped in between the two of us and said, "Don't forget about me."

Wonho and I looked up at the same time to see Hyungwon had stayed behind from the roller coaster.

"What are you doing here?" Wonho asked. "I thought you liked roller coasters?"

"I do." He replied, nodding, "But I'm feeling motion sick. So I decided to skip it today."

I was a bit disappointed that my alone time with Wonho would be ruined. But I didn't want to look awkward in front of him, so I was kind of happy that Hyungwon had shown up. Maybe conversation would flow more easily between us now.

But alas, conversation seemed to halt as soon as Hyungwon appeared. He brought down the mood.

"What do you want to do?" Wonho asked Hyungwon.

"Nothing. Just wait." Hyungwon suggested, staring off into the crowds of people.

"Well, while you wait, Areum and I will go on the tram." Wonho said, grabbing onto my hand and walking me towards the ride.

"Did you say tram?" Hyungwon asked, following us, "I've actually always been interested in that ride. I'll join you."

Hyungwon sat between Wonho and I on the tram tour ride. He didn't speak, and I could see Wonho over his shoulder looking bored. The automated tour went on, and I looked out the window at the beautiful view. Lotte World really seemed to glow at night.

"It's beautiful." I muttered.

Wonho and Hyungwon looked out the window too.

"Yeah." Wonho agreed.

I looked over at Wonho and found him looking at me, smiling. Hyungwon seemed to catch the two of us looking at each other, his eyes darting between the two of us, before he hit Wonho's arm. Wonho looked at Hyungwon, confused by his sudden actions, but Hyungwon didn't say anything. He just coughed and continued to pay attention to the tour.

When the ride came to a stop, the three of us stood up.

"The guys are waiting for us." Hyungwon said, looking at his phone. "We should get dinner now."

"Good idea." Wonho said, leading the three of us off the ride.

We seemed to get swallowed into a large crowd right as we got off of the ride. The park got much more crowded as the night went on, probably for the romantic nighttime view.

"Come on." Hyungwon said, leading us to meet the boys.

I started to follow after him, but felt someone grab onto my hand and run with me in the opposite direction. I looked up to see it was Wonho, but I was unsure of where he was leading me.

He stopped in front of the Lotte World castle. Wonho was a bit out of breath, whereas I was gasping for air.

'I'm really out of shape.' I couldn't imagine I looked super cute gasping for air like a fish out of water.

I stood up and looked at him, unsure of why he had led me away.

"Sorry." Wonho breathed. "I just wanted to do this while I still had the chance."

'Do what?' I wondered, looking up at him. He somehow looked more attractive in the artificial light.

Wonho but his hands on both of my shoulders and looked down at me intently. I raised my eyebrow at him, still confused. He towered over me, but leaned in slowly until his lips touched mine. My eyes widened in shock. I looked at his face that was super close to mine, and saw he had his eyes closed. I closed my eyes too, kissing him back.

'Wow, my first kiss! And with someone as attractive as him! I've gotten to be quite lucky.'

He pulled away first and smiled down at me. I stared wide eyed at him, blushing like mad. I was waiting for him to say something, anything.

"There you two are!" I heard Minhyuk call through the crowd, the boys were approaching us through the crowd and looked dazed from being on the roller coaster. Hyungwon was 3annoyed that we had ditched him.

"H-how was the ride?" I asked, making small talk in hopes of calming my racing heart.

"Great!" Minhyuk replied, "But now I'm hungry. Let's go eat!"
