"Ready to go?" Wonho asked, appearing behind me just as I was doing the finishing touches for my makeup. I meticulously followed a hair tutorial on Youtube and created the perfect updo, putting on winged liner and a very old-Hollywood makeup look. I was just putting on my matte red lipstick when Wonho spoke.
"Yes." I smiled, standing up. I was a bit taller now, wearing red heels.
Wonho was speechless, staring at me for a moment before offering me his hand, "Come on, let's go."
We walked silently together, enjoying each other's company as we took the elevator up to the banquet area. It was at the top floor of the hotel and had a perfect view of the ocean. The elevator doors seemed to open up in slow motion to reveal the party was somehow already in full swing. The place was packed with attractive and fit people. They all stopped to stare once we showed up.
"Wonho!" A friend of his jogged over, "You made it!"
Wonho smiled and did a quick handshake with his friend before disappearing with him to chat.
I stood there awkwardly, looking around at all of these people that I didn't know. I hoped Wonho would come back soon.
"So, you're Areum, right?" I turned around to see a group of female personal trainer had approached me. They were much less than friendly, all of them looking me up and down.
"Yes." I forced a smile, not wanting to be rude.
"So you're not Jisoo, then?" Another girl asked, clearly giving me the side-eye.
"No." I replied. They were suspicious of me only because they didn't know the truth about Jisoo. But it wasn't my place to tell them. "But Wonho and I are just friends."
They simultaneously rolled their eyes, "Yeah right."
I felt Wonho return to my side to save me from the catty girls, throwing an arm around my shoulder, "Is there a problem?" He smiled at them.
The demeanor of the girls changed immediately, they went from being rude to nice at the snap of a finger.
"Of course not!" They gushed, "Just getting to know your friend better."
"She's my girlfriend, okay." Wonho replied confidently. My eyes widened, turning to look at him.
'Is he asking me out right now?'
"So be nice." Wonho laughed.
The girls scurried off after hearing the news, probably to tell everyone about the new drama. I turned to Wonho once they were gone, "W-why did you tell them that?" I asked, blushing.
"What?" He smirked, "You don't want to be my girlfriend?"
I blushed even more, if that was even possible, my heart racing, "T-that's not it... It's just..." I stuttered, "I don't want them to spread rumors about you..."
