It was another long work day, coffee after coffee being made by me. It was pretty boring not having Jimin work with me anymore. He's been so busy that we barely had any time to talk, and I wondered how his training was going. I knew it could be stressful and broke a lot of people. But I wanted the same bright and happy Jimin to remain even after becoming famous.
During another slow time of day, I noticed Hyungwon walking in again. He was smiling already, walking around as if it was the best day ever.
"Hi..." I said tentatively.
Last night I had done a lot of research about Dissociative Personality Disorder, and I was almost certain he had it. But I wasn't a professional yet, so I couldn't exactly diagnose him.
That wasn't going to stop me from trying.
"How is your day?" I asked, following him to the seat at the bar. I started making tea water for him, picking out a fruity blend. "Do anything fun?"
"Not so much." He replied. "I'm making some important plans though, so I've been fairly busy."
"What about yesterday...?" I asked tentatively, knowing damn well we hung out the day before. If he truly had Dissociative Personality Disorder, than only his other personality would remember meeting up with me.
"Pretty much the same." He laughed. "I didn't do anything."
I gasped silently to myself, checking off the list of things that would classify him as having D.I.D. But I couldn't be too confrontational about the way I asked, I had to be sneaky.
"So..." I placed the cup and pot of tea in front of him, wanting to get him as comfortable as possibly, smiling brightly. "When you're really busy, do you ever just have days that you don't remember? Like, before you know it it's a week later?" Hyungwon seemed confused by my question. So I faked a laugh, "I mean, that happens to me all the time."
"I suppose." Hyungwon replied, relaxing. "Life gets so mundane sometimes that the days pass by really quickly. But that's what I like about hanging out with you, I never forget it." He winked.
'Damn, he's smooth.'
I blushed, turning away to busy myself with cleaning the coffee machines.
"Sometimes I remember going one place and wake up another." I lied. I knew that was common with people who had D.I.D. One personality could go to a bar and pick up a girl, the other personality might wake up in bed with her and not remember anything about it. "Does that happen to you too?"
Hyungwon laughed, "I think you should get more sleep, Areum. That sounds pretty bad."
"I guess." I laughed too.
If this personality didn't experience that yet, then perhaps the D.I.D had just started happening. This could be the first time he'd be diagnosed with it.
"Enough about me." I said, taking the seat next to him and drinking water, "What are you planning for? Another trip?"
"Something like that." Hyungwon replied, swiveling his chair to face me. He propped his head up on his hands, leaning onto the counter as he looked up at me. "Don't you ever imagine going on a trip with me?"
I blushed, avoiding eye contact.
"We kind of have." I said. "All of those trips back in time, and that day we spent at Lotte World..."
"I mean like a long trip." Hyungwon said, "The kind that couples go on."
"We're just friends, Hyungwon." I sighed, sitting up straight.
