Later that night, we parted ways for Wonho and Jisoo to head back home. They wanted to meet up again with us soon, but I thought I might opt out from that visit. I had my fill of watching them be cute together.
I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders as we watched the two walk down the street and disappear into the crowd.
Once Jisoo and Wonho were gone, the mood of the group seemed to change.
"Wonho's so..." Minhyuk started to say.
"Different?" Changkyun added, "Yeah... he seems more calm now."
"More mature." Kihyun continued.
"He really seems like an adult now." Shownu said.
"It's a good change." Hyungwon cut in, starting to lead the trek back to the apartment, "All of you should expect change in your future too. Just like I told Areum."
'Still rubbing it in...' I thought.
"Ok, you were right." I said, putting my hands up in defense.
Everyone looked towards me after my sudden outburst. It seemed like now that Jisoo was gone, I existed again. I had no cute girl to compete for attention with anymore.
"I was an idiot for thinking there would be a lasting connection between Wonho and I." I scoffed, looking Hyungwon in the eye as I spoke. I wanted him to know that he didn't intimidate me (even though he did). I started walking slowly towards him. "You, Hyungwon the almighty god of time, were right." I stopped just in front of a shocked Hyungwon, "Are you happy?"
Once I had vented out my frustrations and felt like I was back to myself, I looked around to see everyone was shocked.
This was the first time they had seem me angry.
I sighed, "I'm sorry, just forget about it." I added, starting to walk towards the house. I had been there so often, I was starting to remember the way there on my own.
"It's okay, Areum." I heard Minhyuk say over my shoulder. I turned to look him in his empathetic eyes, "It's okay to tell people how you feel. Sometimes you just have to let it out."
"Yeah, we were kind of wondering when you were going to explode..." Changkyun spoke, smiling at me, "Hyungwon was messing with you all night."
"Yeah, that was mean Hyungwon." Kihyun frowned at him.
Hyungwon was taken aback that they had noticed, "I wasn't... trying to..."
But everyone could see through him.
"Anyway, there are more important things ahead of us." Hyungwon asserted, trying to change the subject. "We need to decide who goes next."
"Well, how soon are we doing this again?" Shownu asked.
"Tomorrow." Hyungwon replied, "We need to hurry up and get this over with before we get caught." We arrived back at the house. Hyungwon turned towards us once inside, "Do we have any volunteers?"
Most of the guys exchanged uncertain looks. It seemed like no one wanted to speak up and take the opportunity for themselves until Kihyun raised her arm and firmly spoke, "I want to go next. I need to."
"Alright..." Hyungwon said, a bit surprised by his forwardness. "Then we're time traveling tomorrow morning. I suggest we all sleep well tonight."
