It's been a minute, hasn't it? I'm sorry for taking so long to include this update. Shownu stans, enjoy!
--------------
"This is so exciting." I said to Jimin. He was performing as a backup dancer at a music show event, and he snuck me in backstage. Which meant I was going to see my boyfriend perform live!
We were surrounded by attractive, talented people. It was so overwhelming.
"I'm kind of nervous." Jimin confessed, the two of us sitting in a waiting area. "I hope I don't mess up..."
"You'll do great!" I replied, patting Jimin on the back. "You're plenty talented! You're going to do amazing."
Jimin turned and smiled at me, but I could tell he was still shaky.
Over the intercom, Jimin and his team were called for rehearsal.
He stood up. "I'll be back." He muttered.
"Fwighting!" I cheered, giving him a thumbs up.
When Jimin left, I felt like a fish out of water. I was surrounded by idols, when I wasn't one myself, I'm just an average girl. It felt odd. Some of the girls looked over their shoulders at me, trying to discern what I was doing here.
I decided to avoid eye contact, staring at my hands as I fiddled with my fingers in my lap.
Someone sat next to me, but I didn't dare look up. I didn't want people to notice just how out of place I was.
"What are you doing here?"
'Dang it. Someone noticed!'
I glanced over nervously at the seat to my left, and recognized the person who had sat next to me immediately.
"Shownu!" I gasped, excited to see him.
He smiled, "How have you been?"
"Good." I replied, "A lot has... changed, but... I'm sure with you too!"
My words seemed to be all over the place. I couldn't formulate a single coherent sentence. I felt like an idiot, pausing to take a breath.
"Yeah, I've been slowly making my way up the food chain." Shownu chuckled, smiling to himself. "I'm actually going to be on a television show, too."
"Really?!" I asked excitedly, I was happy to hear about his success, "What show?"
"It's called Hit the Stage." Shownu replied, "I got the attention of the producers, they want me to join. You should come watch some time."
"That would be fun!" I said, but then my voice trailed off as I second-guessed myself.
Should I go? I mean, I was dating Jimin after all. Would he be okay with that?
"So,,, I hear you're dating someone now." Shownu said lowly.
"I mean..." I didn't know how to respond, "Yes. His name's Jimin. He's actually the reason I'm even here right now."
"Jimin?" He asked. His brow knit as he was lost in thought. "Do I know him?"
"No, probably not." I laughed, "He's just a trainee for now. But I think he'll make it big one day!"
"Oh, I see..." Shownu muttered, he looked very disappointed.
I wanted to lift his spirits, "But that doesn't mean we can't be friends anymore! We should hang out tonight! If you're free."
Shownu's head shot up, raising an eyebrow at me, "Like, the three of us?"
"Yeah! Why not?" I laughed.
