"So you're having fun?" I asked, meeting Jimin outside of Big Hit during one of his rare breaks. He spent all of the conversation gushing about how much he had improved at singing and dancing already.
"Yes!" Jimin smiled, holding onto my hand tightly. "And they're very nice too! So far I've only gotten in trouble twice."
I laughed, happy to hear that he was happy.
We were only able to meet at these late times, but any time was a good time.
"I'm making friends too." He smiled, "The other trainees aren't mean to me at all! There's one guy whose really good at rapping. Actually, two! And there's this one guy that's, like, really handsome. Oddly handsome. And another guy that's very handsome too but in a more conventional way. And the youngest one is working so hard to improve, it's cute. But everyone's talented." I smiled as I listened to him talk.
He must have really been enjoying his trainee days, I guess they weren't so bad for some people.
We spent a long time catching up until he had to get back to his dorm to sleep. As we parted ways, I imagined what it would be like when he debuted.
I hoped fame wouldn't change him too much. But I couldn't imagine we would be able to stay together after he debuted.
As I walked along the busy night streets of Seoul, heading home, I put in my headphones and started listening to music. I muttered along to the lyrics, taking a turn into the same short cut I always used.
"Come back home
Can you come back home

'What the hell...'
I groaned, finally feeling my eyes open as I woke up. But my gaze quickly started darting around in fear. I was taken to a foreign place. It was a very nice hotel room, but I couldn't recall getting there.
"Where am I..." I muttered, looking around. I tried to get up when I realized that I was tied to a wooden chair. "What the-!"
I was about to scream again when Hyungwon emerged from the bathroom.
The bubbly Hyungwon.
'Oh no! Thing have escalated!'
It was entirely possible that this second personality was crazy. Many people with one disorder also suffered from another.
"Good morning." He smiled, kneeling in front of me. "How are you feeling?"
"Umm..." I strained against the rope that help my wrist down to the armrest, "Fine... I guess."
"Good." He smiled, placing a hand on my thigh. "I didn't want to have to do this. I don't want to hurt you, but its the only way to trap him..."
Hyungwon stood up and paced the room.
"Trap who?" I asked nervously, my eyes following his figured are he paced back and forth. I needed to find a way to convince him to untie me. Then I could search for help.
"This might be confusing for you." Hyungwon turned to me, still beaming, "You might not understand."
I forced a laugh. "We've been through a lot together, I'm sure I'll understand..."
Hyungwon shrugged, taking a seat on the bed. "Well... I'm sure you've noticed that I've been... different."
I nodded, hoping he would acknowledge his Dissociative Identity Disorder.
"Well... it's because I'm not your Hyungwon." He replied, fiddling with his fingers.
"Oh, come on." I said softly, trying to comfort him despite the fact that I was currently tied to a chair, "You're still the same. A psychological disorder is an obstacle, but it doesn't change who you are."
"Psycho... what?" Hyungwon asked, confused.
"Dissociative Personality Disorder." I started to explain it to him. "It's-"
Hyungwon shook his head, laughing. "Areum, you're so sweet. You're always trying to help people."
I gave him a confused looked.
"I'm not a different personality of his." Hyungwon explained, standing up from the bed. He stood in front of me, towering over the chair, "I'm a different Hyungwon entirely."
I eyes widened slowly, "What do you mean?"
"Well..." He knelt in front of me again, holding my tied-up hand, "The Hyungwon you know is a liar. He told you he didn't return back in time to obliterate the timepiece, but he did. And he failed," Hyungwon smiled wider at me, "He came face to face with me. And I knew there was only one reason for me to return to that day. So I took the blue print for the timepiece and I ran away before he could fuse with me. Apparently he changed his mind about obliterating the watch, because here you and I are. But ever since then, there have been two of us. Two Hyungwons exploring the world," he chuckled, "I've been traveling in time to avoid him. The plan was to live my whole life time traveling until the day I die... but then I saw you."
Hyungwon looked up at me, reaching to touch my face. I stared into his eyes, seeing that he was entirely serious. And completely in love with me.
"I watched how the other Hyungwon interacted with you. I've been watching you for some time now, but always in the background, never noticed. And I've decided that I wanted to be him. I wanted to have you."
My heart raced, wondering what Hyungwon was plotting.
"So then my plans changed." He stood up, pacing the room. "Now I want to settle down in the future... with you." He turned and smiled at me. "So I'm going to trap the Hyungwon you know and fuse with him. So there will only be me."
"W-what?!" I gasped.
I mean, obviously two Hyungwons couldn't exist; or, at least, shouldn't.
And there was a huge moral dilemma with which one deserved to be "the" Hyungwon.
But this?
This wasn't okay.
"And you're going to help me with it." Hyungwon continued, walking over to grab my phone out of my purse, "I'm going to lure him here... And then there will only be you and me."
I panicked, imagining how life would be without the real Hyungwon around.
He was mean and he was cold. No one has ever roasted me as much as he did. But he I wanted the real Hyungwon in my life.
He didn't deserve to disappear.
"H-how?" I asked shakily.
"You should know." the fake Hyungwon laughed, "You've fused with yourself before. The dominate Hyungwon that initiates contact with the other will take over."
"This isn't right." I said, shaking my head. "You can't do this."
"It's already been done." fake Hyungwon laughed, setting down my phone. "There's no stopping it now. And once this is all over and done with, you and I can live happily ever after. Doesn't that sound nice?"
'This can't be happening...'
