Chapter 24

Nia POV
I woke up in the middle of the night scared out of my mind. I had another dream about KJ. This time he was trying to kill me because he found out I was going with Xai. I looked over at Xai and he was turned the other way. I got up and went to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror for a while. "Why me?" "Why couldn't he have talked to anyone else?" "What have I done to deserve this?" I looked deep at myself with tears. "I hate you." I say through tears. "It's all your fault you fell in love with a nigga who didn't care about you." "I hate you" I say again. "You could've saved your mom from dying all you had to do was call the ambulance. But instead you waited for your sister to call and she slipped in a coma."
Nobody POV
When Nia got out the bed. It woke Xai up and he heard everything she said. Nia was yelling in the mirror. Xai came in to see her in the mirror yelling I hate you. He was so confused and tired. She fell on the floor and started crying. "Its all your fault"'she said. "You will never be loved just like he said" she told her self. Damn she's broken Xai thought. Nia still hasn't looked up. Xai Just sat on the floor next to her. "Nia nothing is your fault. You don't hate yourself. It's not your fault you fell in love you thought he loved you. You couldn't save your mom. God needed her with him. So he took her. And I promise you that one day someone will love you more than anything." Xai told her. "Why did he tell me he loved me then?" She asked. "Because he wanted to fuck you" Xai says bluntly. "Why didn't he just say that?" "I don't know" Xai said. "Do you just want to fuck me?" She said looking into his eyes. "Nah b i want you to ride for me" he said. "Promise me you won't hurt me." With the lifestyle he had Xai didn't know if he would be dead or alive tomorrow. He didn't know what random hoe will say she's pregnant by him. He didn't know if eventually he'll get tired of Nia and move on. "Nia I told you before my lifestyle is too much to say I won't hurt you." "I know." She sighed getting up and going back in the bed. Leaving Xai there with his thoughts. He got up and went back asleep too. Xai woke up at 8:00 and got ready for school. "Make sure you call the school and tell them your not going to make it today." He tells her. "Ok" she says half sleep. Xai got his things and left. Nia called them and told them she won't be coming in. She asked jilly and kirah to get her homework for her. Then she went back to sleep. Eventually she got up around 12. She didn't know what to do. "Why is this house so big?" She locked all the doors and all the windows. "I should cook for him." She said. She looked through his cabinets and the fridge to see he didn't have any food. She got the key off the table made sure it fit then locked it and called an Uber to Walmart. She didn't know what to cook but she had to get out of there because she knows her grandma stay in Walmart. She definitely didn't want to see her right now. She got some Cabbage,Macaroni and Cheese,and Chicken. She got some Apple pie with some ice cream. She bought some more stuff. Then checked out and called another Uber home. She got everything ready and started cooking. She got her phone and called mama T.
Nia- Hey ma
Mama T- hey babygirl wassup
Nia- Nothing much just cooking.
Mama T- Oh why you not at school
Nia- Well to be honest I got shot
Mama T- Are you okay!? When did this happen? Does Xai know
Nia- I'm ok. Xai knows and it happened yesterday
Mama T- Well what happened?
Nia- I think Xai is going to tell you that
Mama T- ok we'll nice talking to you and good luck with your wound.
Nia- Thank you
Mama T- Bye bye love you
Nia- love you too
They hung up and Nia continued cooking the cabbage. She seasoned the chicken and put it in the oven. "Some cornbread would be good too" she said reaching in the cabinet. She made that too. She added cheese in the macaroni pan then waited til it was done. Her flash went off and her phone vibrated. "Hello" she said. "I'm on the way. Kirah and Jilly and Trey said they coming to." "Ok. When they coming now?" she asked. "Yea I guess." "Ok see you when you get here" she said hanging up. She cleaned up the house and opened the blinds. She turned off all the fans and turned on the air. She put up everything else she bought which consisted of Snacks,fruit, bread, milk and all that good stuff. 5 minutes later Xai came walking in the door. To see a smiling Nia. "Hey baby girl" he said hugging her. "Heyy" she said enjoying every minute of it. "I cooked for you." "Word?" He said. "Yup." "And you cleaned. You know I have a maid right?" "So I can clean whatever I want" she said. "You got jokes huh" he said. She laughed. "Well I got to change and get out of these clothes." "Ok." She said going to check the food. Xai went upstairs to take a shower and all that. Next thing you know there was a knock at the door. She looked at the peephole and rolled her eyes. "Hello darling. Now where's my bae at?" "In the shower and last time I check he's mine you got jilly." Trey laughed and walked in. Kirah and jilly came in after. "Hey girl" "Heyy it smells good" kirah and jilly said. "Thanks" Nia says. They all sit down and talk about what Nia missed and that she needs to go to the party. "Yea and daija and her crew they was exposed. You know how they think they all high and mighty. Well they ain't rich , all that shit they be wearing be fake." Kirah said. "And Kirah and Elijah are together." "Really!?" Nia says excitingly. "Yes we are together." "What's next y'all gon talk about y'all periods?" Trey said aggravated. "Bae are you mad?" Jilly asked "Yes I'm tired of hearing about y'all girl talk." "Well tell us what you want to talk about." "Igh so the cavs obviously gon win that game. I shot a nigga because he ain't have my money and I invested in a golf course." He said. "That's good." Nia says. "Well I got my own club downtown." Everybody turned around to see Xai coming down the stairs with  some polo pajama pants. "Babe that's good" Nia said. "Thanks. Can I eat now" he said. "Yea I'll fix your plate." Nia said getting up. "Y'all are like a married couple." "Facts." Nia shrugged and smiles. She fixed everybody's plate. They all sat at the table and ate. "So when you got this club?" "Shit I just found out last night." Xai said. "Nia girl you can cook!" Kirah said. "Thank you. It's dessert but we got to go to the mall." She said. "Oh fr? Where it at She's a keeper." Trey fat ass said. "Where?" jilly said. "Y'all belong with each other" Nia said. They all laughed. Nia went in the kitchen and brought back the apple pie and ice cream. "Aw man. No she didn't" trey said. "What?" "This my favorite dessert" he said. They ate their dessert. "Y'all ready?" "Yea let's go."
The girls got up and put their shoes on. "We going too" the boys said. They all got in their cars and went to the mall. "Ok so we split up and find an outfit then meet back here." Kirah said. "Nah not me I'm spending money for me and my girl" Xai said. "I'm not leaving jilly either. Ain't nobody in this bitch gon try to talk to her" Trey said. The girls rolled their eyes. "There go Elijah." Nia said. Kirah turned around so fast. "What is he doing here?" She said. She called him. "Hey bae" she said. "Wassup." "Nothing wyd." "Chillin." "Oh well where you at." "At the crib." "Oh. Really!? Because I see you right now at the mall." "Shit. Where you at?" She hung up. And went over there. "Well that's over" jilly said. Nia and Xai walked around the mall. While trey and jilly walked around. They tried on a couple outfits then finally found the perfect one. Nia put her stuff on the counter to pay. "Woah woah what you doing?" "What you mean I'm paying for my stuff." She said. "No you not I got this." He said putting his stuff up there. Nia rolled her eyes. They left the store. "Wassup?" Xai said. "I don't want people thinking that I'm using you for your money" Nia said. "What you mean?" He said. "Your sister thinks I'm using you like all the other girls." She said. "Well you not and if you was you'll be out of here. You got your own money." "I know that and you know that but they don't." "Who is they?" "Everybody who knows you" she said. "Don't worry about it. Just chill." Xai assured her. "Okay can we just leave it alone. Let's just have fun for the rest of the day." Nia said. That's exactly what they did.
