Chapter 3

Nia woke up in a different setting. White walls, white covers everything white. She suddenly realized it was the hospital. "She's awake." She heard a familiar voice say. Looking around she noticed it was her sisters and grandma. "Wah- What happened?" "You passed out at school." "Oh." She said remembering everything that happened earlier. "Wha-how long has it been?" "Well it happened yesterday so.." "i guess." she said dryly. "When can I leave? Call the doctor in here." "You have to stay until they figure out what's wrong with you." "I know what's wrong y'all moved me out here away from my family so that I can go to a school where nobody likes me. Plus so I can get jumped." "This isn't our fault you the one who ended up here." "Woww are you hearing yourself right now? I can't do this with you. Get out." "I'll get out when you pay a damn bill. You ain't grown." "Stop it you too." "Probably got beat by your boyfriend." Tasha her big sister mumbled. "I don't even have a boyfriend and if I did he'll be wayyy better than your no good boyfriend with his sorry ass." "Nia hush yo mouth talking like you grown." Her grandma said. She just ignored them until they left. She was so annoyed at this point. "Heyy there you are." A figure said. She turned on the lamp that was next to her and seen Julian. "Hey julian what're you doing here?" "Came to see you. I wanted to check in on you." He said sitting down the flowers he bought her. "Well thank you. Seriously for everything if you wouldn't have took me to the nurse I would've passed out in class." "It's no problem. You cool people I fucks with you." She smiled. "But I got to go my girl keep blowing my phone up." "Okay bye." She said kinda disappointed. She knew he had a girl but he's still her crush. Once he left she nodded off to sleep.

3 days later...
"Hi Mrs. Sheppard." The nurse greeted nia. She smiled. "Your getting released today. Is there anyone who can pick you up?" She thought about it. Her grandma was out of town so she called her sister.
Nia- "Hey I'm getting released today could you come get me?"
Tasha- "I can't I'm with Dre."
Nia- "oh ok."
Tasha- "get one of your friends to do it."
Nia- "yeah."
"My sister is on the way" she lied. "Okay." The nurse left her in there. Nia quickly changed her clothes and got all her belongings. Then left the hospital walking home. She probably didn't think this through. All her money was at home all she had was a phone with no contacts that could help her. Plus it was freezing and she didn't have on the right clothes. She was wearing the same thing she wore the day she got beat up. A jogging set mind you the top was a crop top. "Aye." She heard so she sped up. "Yoo I know you hear me." Next thing you know someone grabbed her wrist and pulled her into an alley. "What're you doing? Let..me go." She said struggling to get out of his grip. "What's your name shawty." "Sarah." "Oh well sarah let me get a kiss." "Back the fuck up." She said finally getting out of his grip and pushing him. "That's how you want to do this?" He grabbed her neck with one hand and took his pants off with the other. He tried to put his self inside her. But she kicked him and took off. Not looking where she's going she bumped into someone hard. "I'm so sorry" she said as tears ran down her face. "It's straight Nia right?" Xaiver asked. She realized it was the boy from the store. "Yeah." She said looking back. "Why you crying?" "It's nothing." "AYE!" She heard turning to see the boy again she started running. "WAIT" xaiver screamed not understanding what's going on. He got in his car and drove after her. Once he reached her he opened the passenger door. "Aye get in." Hesitant but scared Nia jumped in. Xaiver sped off. "You ight?" "No that guy tried to force his self on me." "What?" She just sat there. He stopped the car and got out. She looked around. Then she seen xaiver beating the man ass. She instantly got confused. Eventually he came back and sped off. She looked at him and he was bleeding a little. "You barely know me." She said lowly. "Yeah but I can tell your a good girl. You need to stop walking everywhere. Where are you coming from anyway?" "The hospital." "You think it was safe to walk all the way from the hospital to your house?" "Yeah kinda." He shook his head. "Give me your number." "No why?" "Come on Nia." She grabbed his phone and put her number in. "We don't even know each other." "Well my name is Xaiver. I am 20 years old." "20?" "Yeah. How old are you?" "18." "So what's your favorite color red or you a blue fan?" "Neither I like Gray." "Gray? I never heard anyone say that." "I'm not the average person. What's yours?" "Red." She giggled a little. "What's funny?" "Nothing. Nothing at all." "Mmhm so uh where do you live?" "Lakeview." He nodded focusing back on the road while Nia turned her focus to him. He was so beautiful to her. His strong jawline and his hazel eyes. Everything about him was just so beautiful. "Why you staring?" He said not taking his eyes off the road. "You're just so beautiful." She said. He looked at her and she looked down blushing. "Thank you. You're beautiful too." She smiled. He turned in her complex. "My mom and little brother stay here." "They do?" "Yeah I'm surprised I never seen you before." "Well I'm always in my house so." "You go to Lakeview high school? My homeboy go there." "Yeah I'm glad I don't have that much longer. I despise that school." "Why? That shit is boring." "Maybe when you went there. Okay so there's this girl Daija. Her and her friends think they own the school. So when a girl like me checks them you know what they do." "What?" "They jump me." "They jumped you?" "Yeah on Monday. I was in the hospital for almost a week." "Damn slime that's fucked up."
