Xai's POV
"Uh I don't know what love is to be honest. I mean I care for you." She told me. I nodded. "Well unfortunately you got to go back to work now,But don't worry it's all going to be over tomorrow" I said. "Ok" she said. I looked over at her. She seems so out of it. I know she's going through a lot but damn. I don't know how she loves me. I never did anything for her. We pulled up to the trap. I wanted to ask why does she care but I'll wait to our date. We walked in. "Fuego take her to reaper" I said. We got to get ready tonight they not bout to sneak up on us. "Igh" he said.
She gave me a hug. "I'll see you later" she said. "Igh" i said kissing her head.
Nia POV
I got in the car with fuego. "So how old are you" I asked. "20" he said. "Oh ok" I said. "You?" He asked. "18" I said. "Fr!? You is not 18"he said. "Yes I am what I got to lie for" I said mugging him. "Damn chill. Family?" He said. "Dad moved away. Moms passed away and I got 2 sisters that I'm living with how bout you" I said. "Parents passed away. And I have a sister that went missing so basically it's just me" he said shrugging. "Wait did you just say your sister went missing?" I said. "Yea the night my parents died." Oh shit. "Mateo?" "How you know my name you not my sister are you" he said looking in the mirror. "No but I know where she is" I said. "Where?" He said. "She works for reaper but I'll get her out she's really cool" I said. "You promise you won't let anything happen to her?" He said. "Yes I promise" I said. "Thank you I've been lookin for her for the past 6 years" he said. "No problem" I said. "Well we here." I got out the car and went into the house. "Wassup reckless" "Reckless" "Aye reckless wassup girl" everybody started saying. "Heyy" I said. "Where's lannie?" I asked. They pointed to some room. I walked in that direction when I spotted a familiar face. "Hey aren't you x- "shhhh" I said. "Damnn my bad" Stacy said. "Come here" i said pulling her to the bathroom. "You needed Xai's help so we are helping you don't fucking blow my cover or I'll shoot you myself" I said. "Chill I'm not going to blow your cover. If you tell Xai I'm helping you and that he should take me back" she said. "Take you back as what?" I said. "His one and only girl" she said. "Listen I'm not going to let you take him away from me. He's not going anywhere. I will kill you right now" I said. "Fine I won't tell but can we at least talk" she said. "Yea deal" I said. Someone is going to kill her anyway so I don't care. I left out the bathroom and went to the room that they pointed too. "Hey lannie" i said. "Hey Reckless" she said with a big smile. "Can we talk in private?" I said. "Yea" she said. We walked outside to a room at the pool. "Wassup it's no cameras in here" she said. "I know who your brother is" I said. "You do?" She said with tears. "Yes. But if you want to see him you can't work for Reaper" I said. "Why" she asked. "Because He works for his son." I said. "You do too?" "Yes but just temporarily." She nodded. "So what do I have to do?" She asked. "Help me take reaper down with the boys and you'll be able to see your brother..Ok so we all go to their trap. Bust through the doors and turn our guns on him" i said. She nodded. "Do you think all of the other girls will switch with us?" She asked. "I don't know" I said. "Well we got this" she said. We got up and went back in the house. "Lannie!" some girl called. "Yes?" "I'm so scared. Boss told me if I mess up. I'm dead. Who's going to take care of my daughter if I die" she said with tears. "It's ok come here" she said pulling her into the bathroom. "Ok so we aren't going to be working with reaper. He trashes us, abuses us, kills our family members, and doesn't pay us enough" lannie whispered. "So your saying we should kill him when we go on our mission and switch out to the other side?" She asked. "Yes" I said. "Ok I'm in" the girl said. "Sorry but what's your name?" I asked her. "Mikey yours?" "Nia." She nodded. Eventually we got more people on our side. Then Reaper called everyone down.Shit. "Hello girls" he said. "Hii" everyone said. "It's pay day" he said. "Line up" he said. We lined up and he gave us 150 each. What the fuck is this. Once he stopped at me. "What is this?" I said. "Excuse me?" He said. "We work for you. We do everything you want us to do and you give us 150. Some of us have Kids, Rent, School We know you have more money than this." I said. He slapped me in my face. "Anything else?" He said. I shook my head no. He continued paying. I had tears in my eyes. I never been slapped by a man. Once he finished we all went out. "Nia I know you are stubborn and reckless but never talk to him like that" Mikey stated. "I know I know" I said. "Nia Come to my office" Reaper said. Lannie and Mikey walked me to the office and said good luck. Xai never told me it would be like this. I walked in. "Sit down" he said. I did as told. "Now I knew I was going to have problems with you but I didn't know it would be this bad. You think you can just come up in here and tell me how to pay my girls. Now you have to pay." He said getting up. Now I was scared. I feared him. He caressed my cheek. "You know you are very beautiful" he said. His hands went down to my neck. Then he started choking me. "If you ever disrespect me again and I mean ever you are dead" he spat and threw me. Then he got on top of me and tried to kiss me but I moved. He laughed "Get out I'll see you tomorrow." I left out with tears in my eyes but I wasn't going to cry. Lannie dropped me off home. And I called Xai. "Xai I" I said with a raspy voice. "I'm coming" he said. I hung up and cried in my pillow. It was already 7.
15 minutes later he texted me saying he was downstairs. "Tasha I'll be back" I said. She nodded. I walked downstairs and he stood there with a jogging outfit. He held his hands out and I gave him a hug. "I-I" "it's okay" he said. "Come on let's go to my house." He said. "I have school tomorrow" I said. "Oh yea well you got clothes at my house" he said. I nodded and got in the car. I texted my sister saying I won't come home til later. She put the thumbs up emoji. I didn't say anything the whole time. He just rapped along with nba. Eventually we made it. We got out and walked in his house. I sat on the couch and he went upstairs. Every time I closed my eyes he was on top of me hitting me. "Nia....Nia......NIAAA" Xai said. "What nigga" I said mean mugging him. "Yo ass wasn't answering" he said. "What you want" I said. "Let's talk" he said. "Ok."
"What happened?" He asked. "Reaper was paying us 150. Then I said something about it. And he slapped me. Then later on called me in his office. He caressed my check and choked me then threw me on the floor got on top of me beat me. Then spit on me." I said. "Nia I'm sorry you don't have to go back" he said. "No it's fine we only got one day. He only did that to me once imagine how many times those girls got beat." "Yea you right. How many girls you got on our side?" He asked. "Like 7/10 something like that" I shrugged. "That's why you my girl" he said. Which caused me to smile. "Oh yea I have something else" I said. "What" he said looking aggravated. "Stacy said she won't tell Reaper that I'm your girl if you take her back as your one and only girl." "You seen her?" He asked. "Yea she almost blew my cover." I said. "Mm Igh" he said. He started counting while I hid in his bathroom under the sink. I heard his footsteps. "I searched the whole house where you at." I texted him saying you obviously didn't search everywhere. "Whatever I'm done looking" he said. I got mad and opened the cabinet door. He was standing right there. I ran from him. But he caught me. "Why you running." He said. "Xai get off me" I said trying to get out of his grip. "Nah I'm straight" he said. I tried everything to get him off me but his ass didn't move. "Xai you heavy" I said. "You comfortable I can go to sleep on you." I turned his head and kissed him. I bet he'll get off now. He stood up and helped me up. "Nigga I can get up by myself." "Yo ass always trying me" he said pushing me. "I know" I said. Next thing I know someone was banging on the door. "Go in my room" he said. I went in his room. I got my night clothes and took a shower,did my night routine. I went in his room and laid in his bed. He came in the room. "Trey's downstairs" he said. "Ok." I got up and went downstairs. "Hey trey" I said. "Wassup Nia" he said. Xai eyed me. I sat on the couch and turned on Netflix. I went to my favorite show On my Block. "Yeaa niggaa" trey laughed. I rolled my eyes they so damn aggravating. "You dead ass fucked her" Xai said laughing. "Yea that bitch was all up on a nigga. Even when we was done she was trying to stay and shit. I had to kick her ass out" trey said laughing. "Yooo that shit funny ass fuck." Xai said. "Y'all loud" I said. They looked at me like I was crazy. "What you watching?" Xai asked. "On my block" I said. "The fuck is that. Put on a scary movie" trey said. "Whatever" i said changing it. "Love ya sis" trey said throwing a pretzel at me. I put on Hush it seemed good. "I'll get the snacks" I said getting up. I went in the kitchen and got two big bowls. I put some honey bbq chips in one and some salt and vinegar in the other. Plus I got my favorite cookies Oreos. "Your shorts are really short" Xai whispered. "That's why their called shorts Xai" I said. "Oh fr I didn't know that. Come on let's watch the movie" he said helping me out with the snacks. "I was waiting for y'all to get together." Trey said. "Just how I'm waiting for you and jilly" I said. "Ion do relationships" he shrugged. "Can we watch the movie." Xai said turning off the lights. We all sat down and watched the movie. "It's somebody in your house" trey said to the tv. "Nigga shut up." "She deaf she can't hear me anyways" he said. We continued watching the movie. I wrapped up in the blanket and laid down. "Come ere" Xai whispered. I laid on him. "Kill that nigga" Trey continued screaming. I don't remember what happened next I guess I fell asleep.
