8 Months Later...
"Your rent's late again Alsina." My landlord stands outside my door with a bright red paper. "I told you I jus' need a couple mo' days- I almost got-"
"I gave you two weeks already. I'm sorry, we all got bills." She hands me a letter saying I got thirty days to evacuate the premises. I close the door and I ball the letter up feeling sick to my stomach. Lenoxx screams at the top of his lungs while I sit on the floor holding my head. I take a deep breath trying to control my emotions but end up crying my damn self. "It's ight Lenoxx." I mumble going over to his crib. I wipe my face picking him up so he can stop. I sit on the couch with him extremely exhausted. It's crazy how drastically my life changed for the worst within a couple months. I've never been so tired and so over life before, I want it all to just end so badly but I got ah son to live for. Lenoxx is the only thing that keeps me a little sane nowadays even when shit is fucking terrible. Vanessa had the baby and everything was perfectly fine for about two months then out of nowhere she shows up on my doorstep with Lenoxx and a diaper bag asking me to take him for a couple days. A couple days turned into weeks then those weeks turned into months without hearing a word from her. Her number is disconnected, all of her social media accounts are gone, it's like she never existed. I try to get in touch with her pops but the nigga don't respond to none of my messages which ain't really shocking. I love my son with everything in me but I need some help; my hours at work got cut due to me missing so many days taking care of a newborn baby day in and out, money got shorter obviously, rent and all my other bills got overdue, depression's kicking my ass, now I'm sitting here wondering what the fuck imma do about this eviction notice. "You ready fa nap nap time lil man?" I kiss his cheeks looking at his wide eyes knowing he ain't going down without a fight. Same old shit, different day.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU..HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR RAYNEEE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUU!!!" I close my eyes wishing for another great couple of months to come with a big smile on my face. "And many moreee!" Royce, Nova's baby daddy which happens to be her boyfriend at the moment yells out causing everybody in the room to erupt with laughter. "Boy, shut up." She laughs playfully slapping his chest.
"Alright." I laugh holding a glass up. "I just wanna toast to having such amazing friends and family in my corner, supporting me no matter what. You guys have truly been my support system throughout everything, literally." I laugh a little knowing I've had ups and downs with just about everyone here tonight. "I don't know what I'd do without you all honestly but before I get too sentimental I just wanna thank you guys for making my twentieth birthday something special. Thank you Nova and Brittany for this." I gesture around the room at all the birthday decorations. "Okay, toast to another year on this earth, prosperity, a whole lot of success, and good grades." We all clink glasses.
