"Well I'll be home soon babe." I readjust my book bag on my shoulder and my freshly printed off research papers for drugs, homeopathic medicines, and placebo effect. I have a paper due at the end of the week counting towards a big chunk of my grade so I've been hitting the library pretty hard the last couple of days especially with Lexus hovering over me making sure my grade point average doesn't slip.

"No rush baybeh. I'm jus' talking but you know what would be better than food right now?"

"What Lexus?"

"You." He mumbles. "I need 'dat before I go handle this business." Rolling my eyes smiling I make my way to the first level of the library walking briskly. "Well I'm still at the library babe." My shoulders drop thinking about the traffic between the library and our house wondering where the day went. I've literally been here since four o'clock reading, researching, and working on this paper. I really didn't mean to be here almost five hours. He sighs laughing. "Ight Im 'bouta get up and fix this la' bottle real quick so you don't gotta do shit when you get here. I'a see you when you get home boo." My lips pout instinctively.

"Alright. Love you."

"I love you too." The corners of my mouth turn up into a smile hanging up the phone. Looking down for a split second I exchange my phone for my car keys in my purse until I crash into something causing me to literally drop everything in my hands. "I'm so sorry- I wasn't looking." I begin to apologize quickly gathering my papers off the ground.

"I guess I didn't need any more caffeine." He sighs attempting to clean up the coffee spilling dangerously close to my work. As he soaks up most of it with some napkins his other hand reaches for my now coffee stained papers the same time as me. I look up seeing the guy my friend introduced me to. His expression immediately changes recognizing me at the same time.

"Sorry about your papers." His hand stays on top of mine until I pull away.

"It's no problem. I can print off new ones." He helps me up to my feet then hands me my keys and purse off the floor. "This for school?" He asks scanning over a page of my typed up research.

"Yeah." He smiles at me then down at my papers now looking at another page seeming interested. "This is some incredible research. Can't say I'm surprised though."

"Why is that?"

"I just see a lot of talent. I see the doctor in you." I almost smile but instead I nod eager to get home to Lexus. "Look I feel really bad destroying such interesting research. I have to be back at the hospital in a few hours, how about I help you re print these? I'll even buy you whatever coffee you'd like."

"Oh um as much as I would love to reprint these tonight I have to get home. My hus- I have a lot to do tonight but thanks for the offer and the compliment. Rain check?"

"Rain check it is." He looks me right in the eyes. "Great, I really have to go now. I'm sorry." Pursing my lips together I look over the floor one last time before I make my way to my yellow car parked away in the shade.
