Getting out the car I put my shades on before I get to the door and knock; a girl 'bout five feet nothing answers the door with an attitude. "Yeah?" She looks me up then down. "Juug and Royce hea'?"

"Who's asking?" I look at her annoyed through my shades. If this girl don't move out my damn way. "Wassup Lexus!" Royce comes to the door with a blunt hanging from his mouth. "Let my man in Syd damn, mean ass." Rolling her eyes she lets me in. "Don't be sayin' my name like that and tell these niggas they gotta meet you outside from now on. Ion like all this foot traffic in my house." She pushes past me. "Who tha fuck is that lil bit-"

"Chill. That's my sister Sydney, sorry she don't have no proper social skills!" He yells out so she can hear. I just nod still annoyed with her stank ass attitude. "Man where Juug at?" I sigh. "He got stuck at the wear house. His boss got him pullin' a double." He sits on the couch. "Dawg so I could be at home right now. Why you ain't just cancel? I don't got spare time like this ta be wasting."

"Just sit down Lexus. We could still talk without Juug and I'll put in a good word next time I see him. You said you need some money right?" I sit down on the couch across from him. "Yeah.." Royce starts talking telling me exactly what I'm about to get myself into and more. I don't say much I just take it all in while wondering if I'm doing the right thing. It'll only be temporary... "When I'm done, I'm done  though. I don't want no ties." I explain. Once I get back on the good foot I'll quit. "I gotchu. So you down?" Royce sister walks in and sits at her kitchen table. "Yeah man I gotta be." I mumble dapping him up. We stop talking because his sister is sitting like five feet away tryna act like she not eavesdropping.

"So I saw your girl the other night at her birthday dinner." I laugh. "What you tryna get at man?" Royce knows damn well she's not my girl anymore. "Wait nigga. So we all singin' happy birthday then we eating and eating cake right?" He pauses tryna make a dramatic build. "The whole fuckin' party stops when ole dude walks in holding a bouquet of flowers tryna romance your girl. You know me so I was lookin like oh hell nah-"

"Who's ole dude Royce? You not tellin' a clear story nigga."

"Her ex..tiny ring." I frown. I can't even lie and say that don't bother me because it does but at the end of the day she grown and she can do whatever she wants. I just hope she don't involve me in no more of her shit from here on out. I shrug brushing it off. "She a grown woman. That's her business."

"So you tellin' me right now that don't make you jealous? I thought you wanted her back?" He squints trying to see if I'm putting on a front. "Nah it don't and I'm good. She in Atlanta doin' her thing with school and I'm here. We got two different lives now, we probably not ever gon' be a thing again." I say feeling a sting from saying those words. Finally saying what could be true out loud always hurts but me and her both needa just get over our "puppy love" and move on. "What in the fuck happened between y'all?" Royce frowns. "What y'all got is solid nigga. You just gon' throw it away because y'all got two different lives now? That's some bullshit." He shakes his head lighting a blunt. "But I can't make you see it." He mumbles.

"We all search for a woman like Rayne to bring home to meet the family and you found her early. A girl like Rayne don't date niggas like us Lexus." I nod agreeing with that. A girl like Rayne and a nigga like me didn't have no business mixing together. Rayne is so sweet and just a great person all around. She deserves someone who already has their shit together. Maybe one day when we're older and much wiser we'll be able to try again. "If I was in love with a girl like you are with Rayne I'd be out here gettin' my bitch back before another nigga come in the picture." His sister scoffs from across the room.
