Virgil's POV

As I nearly fainted, something was whispering to me. It wasn't the normal whispers of stating what I'm doing wrong, but it was a whisper that you could say was calling me. It's hard to explain but that whisper said something and then I instantly knew my name. My name is Virgil.

I ran down to the back of the mindscape to see Deceit, who I'd grew quite fond of, as he was kind and gentle and he made me feel less on edge.
"Deceit!" I yelled as I saw his black and yellow cape.
"Yes anx-" he paused as he swiveled around to face me.
He put one hand out to touch my face.
"Is it really you?" he whispered, still afraid to touch my face. I slipped my hand around his and brought it to my cheek.
"It's me Dec," I breathed.
"Do...Do you know your name yet?" he asked with his warm smile.
"Virgil" I replied.
"I love it. Virgil. Such a perfect name for a dark side," he said.
"Dark side?" I asked.
"Yes. The light sides or the main sides in Thomas' case have names ending in an or on. The dark sides end in il or el. You're a dark side Virge. Just like me,"
"Now we can finally be together...That is...If you want to or whatever," I stuttered with a cheeky grin.
"Let's make it official then," he said with a huge grin on his face.
"What do you-" I was cut of by the gentle press of Deciet's lips against my own.

When he stopped, he immediately blushed. "Sorry, I guess I'm a little too passionate for you. That's ok, I mean, it doesn't matter about the kissing anyways, as long as we have-" I interrupted him with a tender kiss whilst wrapping my arms around his neck.

Patton's POV

While we were in Roman's room discussing Virgil, Thomas screamed to a level only dogs could hear.

"Thomas what's wrong kiddo?"
"WHATEVER IT IS I SHALL SLAY IT!"
"You didn't see a spider again did you?"
I flinched at the word spider and then again at a startled figure.
"Nonono, please calm down Thomas," he said in a panicked voice. But a raspy voice. Was it...
"Anxiety?" I asked.
"Patton," he said with a smile.
"Ugh not you again. I knew your face would be stupid," said Roman in a snotty manor.
Anxiety paused for a second before saying, "We have the same face dummy."
"Yes but your much paler and you wear than dumb eye-shadow underneath your eyes," he replied.
"ROMAN!" I yelled, feeling dad mode kicking in.
"Ugh whatever," Anxiety said.
"Why were you screaming Thomas?" Logan asked.
"I didn't know who he was and he just kind of appeared," Thomas said in a now calm voice.
"Oh Thomas, there's many you-" his hand covered his mouth and his eyes widened.
"What?" asked a confused Thomas.
"Oh it's nothing," Roman said.

Anxiety's POV

I was about to say something when my hand covered my mouth. I sunk back down to find Deceit.
"Dec!" I yelled.
"Sorry about that Virge but it's my job," he said, trying to look as innocent as possible.
"You did that?!?" I said shocked.
"Yes, but only because whatever Thomas doesn't want to hear from the sides, I can...Shut them up," he confessed, "I hope you're not mad at me."
"Of course I'm not," I said before I kissed him.

Logan's POV

I went down to catch up with anxiety to ask him a few questions when I saw him close to Deceit. Too close.
"DECEIT LEAVE HIM ALONE!" I yelled. Anxiety immediately turned around and I learned what they were doing.
"Oh. My. God. You two were kissing?!? Anxiety he's evil," I said.
"How dare you! For years you've been pushing him to the back, just like sadness, creators block and insanity," he exaggerated the last one, as he knows that he is the opposite of me, that I hate him.
"Deceit has done nothing wrong, and yet you treat him like dirt. Sure he's made mistakes, but haven't we all? Sadness isn't bad and when he does come through you fight it like it's something unnatural and evil. Creators block gives Thomas the break he needs for inspiration and that helps Roman recover too but you call him a dark side. Insanity teaches you a lesson that you shouldn't watch IT when you're 9. Deceit is useful for when your friend has done something they're proud of but it's terrible so you need to have constructive criticism which could lead to lies, but they make your friend feel good. The list could go on Logan!" he yelled, sounding very passionate about Deceit.

As I started to run away, Deceit caught up and started whispering to me, "Please don't tell the others, it's his first day here and I don't want his fresh reputation ruined by well..Me."
"Fine, but only because I have pitty for him," I hissed.
"Wonderful!" he screeched.
I just rolled my eyes and went to my room.

Patton's POV

When Anxiety saw me, have gave me a cute smile. It was so warm for such an emo. Then Roman started being mean to him. I don't like it when he does that. I did love my talks with Anxiety. I could never see his face but I learned to know when he was sad, crying, angry etc. I couldn't wait to become even closer friends now.

Deceit's POV

I couldn't let Virgil's fresh reputation be ruined. I needed him to gain the sides' trust so that they could learn that the "dark sides" could be helpful and good but since the others already found him annoying and don't want to listen to him, he might have to go for plan B. Plan B is crushing them and taking full control of Thomas and the dark sides will rule all!

I was confused that he was so angry and passionate, since he was the embodiment of anxiety and has anxiety himself, but after Logan left, he collapsed in my arms and started crying.
"God that was awful!" he sobbed.
"You did amazing Virge!" I exclaimed.
"It wasn't that but thank you. It's the fact that they push us to the back, that he said such horrible things about you!" he yelled, "Oh god I feel sick," he wailed.
"Awww Virge," I cooed.
He looked up at me and said, "But you're worth it," he smiled and then he kissed me.

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and that it looked a little more into Virgil's history with Deceit.
