"Kazu-kun is with you? Please, take me to him!" Rukia squealed happily, her smile growing impossibly. "Please!"

"Oh kami..." Kazuki breathed nervously, his face matching the color of Rukia's hair. He could feel the insane heat rush to his cheeks, sense the darkening color, and wonder why he hadn't run off yet. He let his head fall on the table, bangin up his forehead.

The redhead remembered him and now she was easig her way over in a bouncy fashion with Scythe. Her happiness was oozing from her, radiating and charging up Kazuki's nervousness. It was like an unimaginably heavy weight on his shoulders. He couldn't stand it.

He was suffocating from his nervousness.

Two perfectly maintained hands smacked down on the table, making him jolt and lift his head. "Hello, Kazu-kun. Ne, genki desu ka?" that sing-song voice inquired kindly, completely crushing the poor boy.

"U-uh...um...uh...I-I um..."

[Kazu-kun! >//v//< He's so shy~]

Scythe clapped the stuttering Kazuki on the shoulder. "Still frost-bitten from the walk here? You can barely talk!" he joked amicably, knowing full well that was not the reason for Kazuki's inability to talk. "It really is the dead of winter out there."

He looked over at the cloak-clad men the girl had been with. They were still just sitting there. Like demented vultures. Scythe didn't like their aura any more than Kazuki did.

Still, he smiled down at the little redhead. "You and Kazuki-kun are old friends, right? We should have lunch together! If your friends wouldn't mind joining us...?" he ventured, glancing at the men again.
